This program will focus on the essential skills that separate elite catchers — with a balance of technical instruction, repetition, and game-situation application.
Throughout the clinic, players will receive hands-on instruction in the following key areas:
• Receiving & Framing: Proper glove positioning, soft hands, and body control to steal strikes and build trust with pitchers.
• Blocking Techniques: Efficient footwork and body angles to keep balls in front and control rebounds.
• Throwing Mechanics: Transfer drills, footwork patterns, and arm strength development to improve pop times and accuracy.
• Plays at the Plate: Tag positioning, footwork, and game awareness for making confident plays under pressure.
• Game Management: Leadership behind the plate — calling pitches, controlling tempo, and communicating effectively with pitchers and coaches.
• Mental Approach: Developing focus, toughness, and understanding the game from the catcher’s perspective.
Our clinic emphasizes quality reps and personal attention, ensuring that each catcher builds confidence and consistency in every area of their craft.
