Most of our summer workshops are now full, but there are still a few spots available in our July 3-day Workshop, happening July 17–19.

Over the course of three days, you’ll build your own beautiful wooden surfboard while learning the techniques, design principles, and craftsmanship that go into creating a board built to last for generations.

Whether you’re an experienced woodworker or have never picked up a hand plane, we’ll guide you through every step of the process.

If you’ve been thinking about joining a workshop this summer, now’s the time. Spots are limited, and the remaining seats won’t last long.

First hang of the season is this week!

The Woodlot is our semi-regular community gathering at Grain—a chance to slow down, share a meal, and spend some time together outside the rush of everyday life.

On select Thursday evenings, we gather around the table to swap stories, enjoy good food, and maybe even roast a marshmallow by the fire. No agenda, no program, just community.

Our upcoming  Woodlot hangouts are June 4th, 18th, and 25th and go from 5pm-7pm right at our shop. 

Food is offered on a donation basis, and everyone is welcome. Come as you are, bring a friend and hangout. 

Keep an eye on our local events page and socials for updates, future dates, and any weather-related changes.

A new bellyboard model that pushed us beyond our comfort zone. Meet, The Puffin!

Often the most challenging boards to build are the shortest ones, where there’s a ton of curves coming together in just a few feet. The Puffin is no exception. The bottom has belly in the nose and a nice subtle concave coming off the tail. But that’s not all. The deck is built in two pieces in order to accommodate the dished out spoon and tapering rails. This board is thin and wide through the tail, providing lots of planing surface, with a sweet concave deck to hold you in the pocket.
