Thank you to all who were planning to help us clean up our community, specifically the codorus creek. The Watershed alliance, who organized the clean up has cancelled Sunday’s event but for good reason. It turns out other responsible community members have beat us to the cleaning.
In an unexpected turn of events, we’ll be canceling the Codorus Creek cleanup scheduled for September 20th. Earlier this week, we were notified that PennDOT was working to remove trash and woody debris from the section of the creek we had planned to tackle during Sunday’s cleanup. While we’re certainly grateful that the Codorus is no longer flowing with trash, it also means there’s nothing left for us to clean up! Unfortunately, given the timing of PennDOT’s work, we haven’t had enough time to pivot to another cleanup site.
We apologize for the change in plans but thank you to all who expressed interest in lending a hand. Please share this cancellation notice so word gets out and people don’t still show up on Sunday.
