Agamenticus Yacht Club

Agamenticus Yacht Club In 1937 members of York's summer community created Agamenticus Yacht Club. They named it for the nearby mountain- an important landmark for mariners.

At its founding AYC was the organizing body for local races. In the 1950s members added a junior sailing program. Today junior sailing is the core of our program. We offer two 4 week sessions of children's sailing lessons. These classes are intended to teach children not only to sail, but also to enjoy and understand the water they live by. AYC also has a strong and active membership. Members sha

re the club's kayaks, sailing dinghies, and J22 sloops. Visit us anytime from 9-6 (10-6 on weekends) to find out more! We're at the end of Simpson Lane, along Fisherman's Walk.

NEW AYC CHALLENGE:
As spring break is coming to a start we want to announce our new AYC community challenge: “Where will the AYC bracket take you”
Rules are simple:
- Where ever you go (near or far) take the rubber bracket with you
- meet people and adventure in new places
- take a picture of someone wearing the bracket that you met or you wearing the bracket in the place.
- DM us with the photo and location

To start this challenge:
Vice Commodore Nat McAllister was in Spain this past week and met Thoma Coville. Who is is a renowned offshore sailor who has broken multiple records for sailing around the world, most notably setting a new solo, non-stop circumnavigation record in 2016 in 49 days. In January 2026, he and his crew on the Sodebo Ultim 3 set a new crewed record for the fastest non-stop around-the-world voyage, completing it in 40 days, 10 hours, and 45 minutes. He connected with him briefly and gifted him an AYC bracelet. To which he put on instantly.
The goal is to make connections and make memories!
So while you are packing your bags don’t forget a bracelet!
