Aria Update 8-31-23... Unfortunately it's been a pretty rough week for Aria. Last week she started to get some bad leg cramps that landed us in the ER over the weekend. We were sent home with pain management protocols and scheduled to come be admitted into the Hospital Yesterday. Frustratingly enough, our concerns about the progressively escalating symptoms were noted but weren't completely addressed so what started off as cramping and spasming has turned into pretty much not being able to walk or sit up straight. Waiting on a bunch of tests to be done because different departments think different things. Hopefully have something even remotely definitive by tomorrow. She has her bouts of pain and her symptoms are still progressively getting worse but she remains our little Warrior. Keep on keeping on my princess!

We're on day 2 of her new treatment plan. And so far she's been handling it well. Hopefully only another couple days and we'll be home free. I'll never have anything but nice things to say about the people who have helped take care of my daughter on the Oncology Floor. But when it comes to patience, interactions and getting her to connect. Josh and Luke at CHOC's Seacrest Studios are absolutely amazing. Seeing them do even the littlest things to help all the children feel comfortable and enjoy themselves is such a breathe of fresh air, especially when you can see a lot them are having a hard go at things. Thank you for all you do.

For those that remember, my 8yr old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia back in November. We hit a pretty rough patch of complications from the end of December to the middle of February. But since then, things were going relatively smooth. Treatments were going well, everything was going on schedule etc etc... When we started this last phase we were worried how her health would hold up because it is the harshest phase, harder than the one that put her in the hospital. We made it all the way to the very end and we thought we were in the clear. But here we are, back in the hospital for a 2nd time this week and this time it's not a quick fix. The first time she needed some blood and fluids and was sent on her way. But it wasn't quite enough apparently. She picked up a bad cold while all her blood numbers are at basically 0. So she's gonna be down for a little bit this time around. All in all, she's gonna be OK, I'll take this over the intestinal virus she had back in January any day... Just need to hang out here till her numbers come up and she starts to feel better. Lots of sleep, meds, transfusions, and patience. I want to thank everyone again who has helped support our family during this whole situation. It's crazy to see still so many direct donor bags come in when she needs blood transfusions. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

It was a long time coming, and it's now or never. "Casper" was a Nickname I grew up with, so I incorporated it in all my ventures. But I've been working on a lot of different things behind the scenes and the more I change stuff, the less it feels like the original buisness I started back in 2013... Mini Update: Last night was the first night in 2 weeks she didn’t have a fever. She is able to walk around again by herself, little shaky but it’s a start, and thanks to everyone who has donated blood /platelets/ plasma we have not had any delays in making sure she has the product she needs when she needs it. We still have a ways to go before she can go home but it’s the compilation of little victories that win the war. Thank you to everyone who is in our corner!
