Some team pics from our 2016 $5000 Tournament of Champions Cup. Congratulations to Yonkers Ukranians (Open Division), Honduras (Liga de Yonkers), Westchester (Port Chester) and C.A. Tumi (Port Chester) for advancing to the Semifinal round of the tournament! Games will be held at Fleming Field in Yonkers. Honduras will face C.A. Tumi at 10 am and Westchester will square off against Yonkers Ukranians at 11:30 am. The Consolation (3rd place) game will be held at 1 pm and the Championship match will be played at 2:30 pm. Good luck to all teams!

The premier event for the Eastern District Soccer League is seeded and will get under way this Sunday! The top teams from across the EDSL will converge for this two weekend $5,000 Tournament of Champions. Two locations will play host to this event, Pelton Field and Columbus Park. The Champion of this event will receive their prize and trophy at the Champions Dinner Dance in October. If you are around in the lower Westchester area this weekend and next, come on out and watch some quality soccer! Good luck to all teams involved and may the best team win!

ATTENTION: All area teams. PrimoSports, Home of the 2015 Open Division State Cup Champions, located in Florida, NY is running an open men's league beginning this Sunday 6/12. One of the teams has dropped out and therefore they are looking for a replacement.

The Semifinal round of Playoffs in the Open Division did not disappoint yesterday.
The first game saw Germania play host to Cabo Verde at the Germania field in Poughkeepsie. Cabo Verde took the lead on a Penalty Kick in the second half, but Germania was able to draw even near the end of regulation time. The game would be decided on PK’s where Germania would make all of their shots and defeated Cabo Verde 5-4.

The second game between Yonkers Ukrainians and Yorktown was held at Tibbets Park in Yonkers.
The first half ended 0-0. Yonkers Ukrainians struck first with a goal in the middle of the second half and then doubled their lead when Yorktown began to press forward in an effort to try to even the score.

"I personally was very proud of all 4 teams for the sportsmanship they demonstrated at the field" said EDSL President Peter Pinori.

Next Sunday we will have the playoff final at 12pm at the Navajo Field the address is 300 Navajo street (right off Route 6)
The Winner of Yonkers Ukrainians vs Germania will win $1500 as well as the Championship trophy and individual EDSL players Medals.

As is tradition, all trophies and prizes will be handed out at our Champions Dinner Dance which will be held on Friday, October 21st at the Ukrainians Center in Yonkers.

The Final Four teams for the Open Division Championship have been set for this coming Sunday, May 15th. Tibbets Field #2 in Yonkers will be the setting for Yonkers Ukranians vs. Yorktown at 6pm. The other semifinal matchup will see Germania playing host to Cabo Verde at 11 am Sunday morning in Poughkeepsie. These matches should be extremely competitive, so if your looking for some live soccer in the Hudson Valley, come on out and support your local EDSL teams! Good luck to all four teams!
