Help us keep the Natural State natural. Join the crew at Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center for a morning of trail work and cleanup as part of Keep Arkansas Beautiful, the statewide community service effort.

When: Saturday, September 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Where: Crooked Creek Nature Center
Meet at the pavilion, on the right side of Conservation Lane before you reach the main building.

What we'll do: Spend a few hours collecting trash and debris along the trails, at the swimming access, and on the county road next to the property.

Cost: Free

Who: Ages 5 and up. This is a great one for families.

What to wear: Weather-appropriate and work-appropriate clothes.

Bring your used hunting, fishing, trapping, recreational shooting, camping or boating equipment to sell and shop around! Goods can range from new to vintage/collectible items such as wood decoys, duck calls or antique fishing lures. We also welcome handmade goods, such as knives or crappie jigs. Educators, bring fishing into your classroom!
Join AGFC for a free Fishing in the Natural State Certification workshop. Educators are welcome to attend this six-hour professional development opportunity, which uses fishing to teach science, math, art, and language arts.

The curriculum focuses primarily on students in grades 4 through 12 but can be adapted for other ages. After completing the workshop and submitting an application, participants will receive an eight-unit curriculum and an educator kit to help teach lessons on fish identification, fish anatomy, aquatic habitats, human impact, and more.
