Team co-manager Heather Lawhorn is heading to the 6-12-24 hour World Time Trial Championship in Boreggo Springs, California!!

First, she’ll be race support for her husband Joe Lawhorn for his attempt to break the 24-hour world record for most miles ridden on a fixed gear bike in 24hrs! He currently holds that record at 415, let’s see if he can break it! Race starts tomorrow at 5pm!

Then, Sunday Heather is up & racing her first ever ultra race! She also will be on a fixed gear bike, racing in the 6 hour women’s category!!

Go team Lawhorn as you race against the clock at Worlds!! 🌎 🚴🏼‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏁🇺🇸

Team Dayton Cycling’s Co-Manager Heather Lawhorn (who now lives in Northeast Ohio) puts on a race in Lisbon, Ohio. If you enjoy Roubaix style (multi-surface) roads & love to climb, this event is for you!!

Coal Country Roubaix offers 4 courses, beautiful countryside views & a challenge that will leave you feeling satisfied!! This race doesn’t disappoint & has a little bit for everyone.

It is time to give a big shout out to Team Dayton member Karen Wh!!

Karen crushed it at the Senior Olympic cycling event over this last weekend. She is pure power and passion on two wheels!! She reminds us that champions are defined by heart, not age. She continues to inspire not only other members of her team, but the cycling community as a whole.

Karen walked away with two SILVER medals and one GOLD!! 👏🥈🥈🥇

Congratulations Karen! Keep up the great work!!

Check it out - lots of action happening at Friends of John Bryan State Park this Saturday!!

A Specialized Bicycles DEMO DAY is at John Bryan State Park on Saturday, May 3rd. There will be a free bike maintenance class from 10 -11 courtesy of Cyclotherapy. Join a free mountain biking basic skills class from 11:00 - 11:30, then try the Specialized Demo bikes from 11:30 - 1:30. Group rides start at noon, including a women's beginner friendly, no drop ride to celebrate International Women's Mountain Biking Day! Kick off the season and the MVMBA Spring Membership Drive with these fun events, hosted by MVMBA - Miami Valley Mountain Bike Association.

The Team Dayton ladies (Karen, Susan, and Melissa) came out in force today at John Bryan CX! Congratulations to Susan who took home a 3rd place podium spot in the women’s 40+ field! These three are pretty amazing representatives of our team. They’re always smiling & enjoying themselves even when they’re at their max heart rates, race pace & giving it all they got! They are always so encouraging to others & cheering for everyone out there. They sure do know how to be great advocates for their sport & female cycling! Team Dayton is lucky to have them.

Mitch Graham Benefit Raffle

In conjunction with Mitch’s Ride to Recovery benefit this Saturday, November 11th there is a raffle with over $18,000 worth of merchandise. Including these TWO “order to your specs” bicycles:

BUY TICKETS FOR ALL ITEMS IN PERSON: Raffle tickets for all items may currently be purchased at Bio Wheels during normal shop hours until the end of business Friday. On Saturday tickets will be sold to anyone who stops by the event prior to the start of drawings at 2:00.

Racing isn’t always about what “place” you get. Sometimes, it’s just about overcoming challenges & finishing. Today, team member Owen Drake had his 1st race back since an injury he sustained last year. Due to mechanical issues, it wasn’t the results he had hoped for, BUT he didn’t throw in the towel & DNF. He pushed on & did what he could to get to that finish line & he did. Today, it was all about the finish. Congrats Owen, your team is proud of you for your efforts & never giving up!

Join us in congratulating team member Karen Hamilton in completing her very 1st SIX hour MTB race at John Bryan State Park!! For those that know Karen, know that she also volunteers & puts in many hours on these same trails as a trail steward. Karen was able to do a total of FOUR laps & logged in 47 miles on the trails today!! Way to go Karen & thanks for all your hours of hard work you put back into the sport! You make your team proud!!

If you see any of these Team Dayton Cycling members around, thank them for their volunteerism!! They stepped up as stationary course marshals when it was needed to help make the kids NICA race at John Bryan a success. Events can’t happen without people with kind hearts giving back. Our volunteers are much appreciated on our team. Thank you for representing us well Karen Wh, Doug Hamilton, Melissa Heston & Tabitha Smith!!
