Veteran's Shoot 2026

Every year we host a Veteran’s Shoot in September. This year it’ll be Friday, September 25th.

I am happy to announce that Bridget Billings will Chair this year’s event!

Here’s the background – For about the last 20 years, BRRGC hosts Veterans from the Brockton VA Medical Center for a day of shooting, good food and conversation. Up to 20 Vets join us, and over 50 of our Club members are there with them.

If you’ve been a member here for any time, you may have participated or seen pictures of the day. Last year we had more than 60 people help in some way on that day.

If you’re new, or haven’t seen it, I will tell you that it is the best day you could have at our Club. The Vets put a couple of thousand rounds down range breaking hundreds of water bottles and balloons at the Rifle Range. Then we eat and do it all over at the Shotgun Field, breaking clays on the wing and more bottles and balloons.

If you’ve been thinking of volunteering at the club but were hoping for something that is not year-round, this could be it. The need is all concentrated in the one day.

Our Range Chairs, Wednesday Workers, Cooks and other Volunteers know what to do.

As the day gets closer, Bridget will be looking for helpers to:

- Meet and greet the Veterans as they arrive and participate.

- Work with the Range Chairs for target set up and RSO coverage.

- Organize the Tent, Tables, Food and Cooking.

- Help live load magazines during the rifle shooting.

- Clean up as we go, and after the event.

- And, most importantly, ensure the Vets and our members enjoy the day.

If you are interested and want to be part of the day, contact Bridget – text 1-774-255-0226

I hope you will join us.

Never assume that basic freedoms cannot be infringed.

A sweeping petition that would criminalize hunting and fishing in Oregon has collected enough signatures to potentially qualify for the ballot.
