I was able to get out and play with my 25 PRC, had to change some stuff up and basically start over on my seating depth test. Looks like .020 off is going to get a new test to see if it will repeat. Man it was so nice not sitting in 100 degree heat shooting, it was a nice evening.

Finished fire forming brass and started seating depth tests, it didn't do too bad, looks like the Hornady 134 ELD-M like around 30 thousand off lands. I will load up some more at .027 off, .030 off, .033 off and .036 off and see what takes place. At least all show less than .750 group size, pretty good.

I needed some group therapy today, man it felt really good. Pulled out my personal 25 PRC, first time out after completing bedding, painting stock and Cerakote barrel and bottom metal. I have to break in 50 pieces of new brass and break in the barrel. Since this is a Wildcat, I just setup a load to fire forming the brass, after I am done fire forming the brass, this cartridge is going to be a hammer. Look at the target after setting up the scope, it put three in the same hole before the barrel turned hot, it was 100 F out this evening. Shot a total of 15 rounds and have another 10 rounds to finish fire forming the brass. This barrel has a total of 40 rounds down the tube, after I am done running through the fifty pieces of ADG brass for fire forming, I will work on the seating depth and then the powder charge. This is going to be a shooter, I am pretty excited about it so far. Also, do not forget about the GFC donated r***e, this is going to a great cause, contact me if you are wanting to purchase tickets.

To all my followers, I have donated this Custom built 6.5 Creedmoor hunting r***e to our Grace Family Church Youth Group. This r***e will be raffled off during our GFC Fall Festival that is currently set for November 8th. Tickets are available, and all details on how to purchase those are listed on my webpage www.mccordr***es.com/special-projects, this year we have Venmo setup for ease of purchasing. Please share with everyone you can, last year donation paid for a mission trip to Jacksonville, FL., where our youth assisted the elderly and disabled with much needed home repairs, built wheel chair ramps and spread the good news of Jesus Christ. During that trip, three of the youth came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The gift of Salvation is the greatest gift anyone will ever receive and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for those that donated for this great cause, God Bless you. Now, let's do the same for this year's raffle and bring someone closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I am back on the personal 25 PRC, I finished Cerakote the barrel and bottom metal Saturday and today I finished engraving my LLC and Cartridge on the barrel. I will post more once I finish promoting the GFC Youth r***e. I cannot wait to start load development on this one, stay tuned.

Last time I will shoot this r***e, the next will be from the person who will win the raffle. I will clean it up, stage it and post it. Whoever wins this r***e will have a complete custom r***e with the Top of the Line components in our industry. The targets are 100 and 200 yards, these are custom loads I have developed for this particular r***e. The Extreme Spread and SD are not great, but those can be cleaned up with better brass and a better scale. My scale has been drifting on me lately, the brass was recycled Hornady brass from the factory ammo I tested with this r***e.

Did another test run, settled on using 42.5 charge to see if it would repeat and went .3 below and above. I will stick with 42.5 as the load on this r***e, it has duplicated from before. My gosh the humidity was horrible this evening, I was dealing with mirage off the barrel. I will clean the gun up and get it staged for this weekend to set up the raffle, stay tuned.

Second round of seating depth test has confirmed .050 off the lands is ticket for this barrel, it barely beat out .020 off. This is using Berger 130 grain VLD Hunting bullet, with the VLD, they normally like up close or a big jump, looks like the jump wins. Now I will take it up a powder ladder and see what the final load will look like. This is the Grace Family Youth r***e, we have a Wednesday night meal and I may bring the r***e up to this meal for those to see what they could win. Oh, and we will be having Smoked Brisket for the Wednesday night meal, I will put those on tomorrow evening using McCord Angus Beef, it's what's for dinner 😊
