I am back on the personal 25 PRC, I finished Cerakote the barrel and bottom metal Saturday and today I finished engraving my LLC and Cartridge on the barrel. I will post more once I finish promoting the GFC Youth r***e. I cannot wait to start load development on this one, stay tuned.

Last time I will shoot this r***e, the next will be from the person who will win the raffle. I will clean it up, stage it and post it. Whoever wins this r***e will have a complete custom r***e with the Top of the Line components in our industry. The targets are 100 and 200 yards, these are custom loads I have developed for this particular r***e. The Extreme Spread and SD are not great, but those can be cleaned up with better brass and a better scale. My scale has been drifting on me lately, the brass was recycled Hornady brass from the factory ammo I tested with this r***e.

Did another test run, settled on using 42.5 charge to see if it would repeat and went .3 below and above. I will stick with 42.5 as the load on this r***e, it has duplicated from before. My gosh the humidity was horrible this evening, I was dealing with mirage off the barrel. I will clean the gun up and get it staged for this weekend to set up the raffle, stay tuned.

First round of running up the powder charges, I will re-test 42.5 and .3gr above and below, then take another look at 43.5, this one had the lowest ES and SD. I went ahead and annealed the case necks this evening before the Second round. I should have this load completed by the weekend.

Second round of seating depth test has confirmed .050 off the lands is ticket for this barrel, it barely beat out .020 off. This is using Berger 130 grain VLD Hunting bullet, with the VLD, they normally like up close or a big jump, looks like the jump wins. Now I will take it up a powder ladder and see what the final load will look like. This is the Grace Family Youth r***e, we have a Wednesday night meal and I may bring the r***e up to this meal for those to see what they could win. Oh, and we will be having Smoked Brisket for the Wednesday night meal, I will put those on tomorrow evening using McCord Angus Beef, it's what's for dinner 😊

Tonight was the first night to start load development, seating depth test up first. Targets go from left to right, .010 off lands, .020, .030, .040 and .050. I am going to load up another three for .010, .015 and .020, then another .040, .045 and .050. I pulled the last shot on the .020 thousand test. I love load development nearly as much as building r***es, always cool to see something come together. Once the seating depth is decided, I will run it up the powder charges to find the perfect combo. This is the Grace Family Youth r***e we will be raffling off for a lucky person to own. Stay tuned, once this is done I will be setting up the raffle.

The Grace Family Youth r***e claimed its first kill, we went out to feed the Horses this morning and had a sounder of Hogs in the pasture again. Since my 25 PRC is broken down, I grabbed the r***e I will set up for our Church raffle. Another Gilt is taken out of that sounder and one less breeding female, I had a Boar picked out to take, but they started moving out of the pasture and took the one that stopped long enough to shoot, 154 yards and down she went.

The Grace Family Youth R***e is finished on the build, I was able to suck it up this evening to shoot, 105 is what showed up on my SXS.. I was happy with the target results using factory ammo, three round groups were two touching and one flyer. I walked the shots in at three round groups, first three are way left, then adjust and next three, same until I stopped on
Shots 10, 11 and 12. The last three were two in the top of the orange circle and the follow-up shot was .5 inch lower. I will wait for it to cool down a little before I start working up a load. However, it does shoot good with factory ammo after bedding. I will advertise this sometime next week after staging it, this will be raffled off for our Church Youth Group to support mission trips for next year.
