Strong Hitting Not Enough As Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U Falls To Yankton Lancers

Even though Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U collected four hits to Yankton Lancers's two, they still fell 4-3 on Saturday at Sertoma Park. Aubrey H led Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U with two hits.

A single by Bethany B put Yankton Lancers on the board in the top of the first.

Elizabeth G singled to right field, which helped Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

In the top of the third, Yankton Lancers broke up the tie when an error scored one run. Then a ground out by Sienna D followed to extend the lead to 4-1.

Janessa G earned the win for Yankton Lancers. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out 10 and walking two. Aubrey “Smiley” R took the loss for Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U. The righty went four innings, surrendering four runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out seven and walking four.

Aubrey H provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day.

Janessa and Bethany were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Yankton Lancers. Sienna and Bethany each drove in one run for Yankton Lancers.

Next up for Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U is a game at Wayne Dirt Devils on Saturday.

Tessamae P With 3 Hits As Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U Beat EPJ Huskies

Tessamae P collected three hits in three at bats, as Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U defeated EPJ Huskies 9-2 on Friday at Sertoma Park. Tessamae doubled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U scored five runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Aria H singled, scoring two runs, Remi S singled, scoring one run, and Breaw N doubled, scoring two runs.

EPJ Huskies got on the board in the top of the first inning after #7 singled up the middle, and #5 grounded out, each scoring one run.

Isabelle E grounded out, which helped Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.

A double by Aubrey “Smiley” R gave Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the third.

Aubrey “Smiley” earned the win for Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one. #32 took the loss for EPJ Huskies. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering eight runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking seven. Emmy H started the game for Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U. The southpaw allowed one hit and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking six.

Aria, Aubrey “Smiley”, and Breaw each drove in two runs for Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U. Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Kaitlyn L and Breaw led the team with two free passes each.

#5 and #7 were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for EPJ Huskies. #19 and #7 each collected one hit for EPJ Huskies. #21 paced EPJ Huskies with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game.

Yankton Fury Outlaws 12U will travel to Yankton Lancers for their next game on Saturday.

During Saturdays pool play games the teams were given awards to hand out to the player from the opposing team that they thought was that teams MVP. Congratulations Aubrey H for being awarded MVP for Game 1 and 3 and for Elizabeth being awarded Game 2 MVP! Way to shine ladies!!

The Outlaws fought hard against a great team to earn the championship win over the Rapid City Thrillers at the Oahe Power Surge Tournament today!! Great job ladies and congratulations on another gold medal finish!!
