Points race #2
A bit of an up and down day. We decided to move up to heavy Honda for the remainder of the points series at our track. Having never raced this class and having to change the cars weight, it was our best guess on setup. The heat we started 6th. After a few laps Hayley made her way to the front and led to the checker. The A main did not go as planned. We started 5th and on lap 1 we got collected in a wreck and couldn’t get the car repaired in time to get back out.
In Light 160 the car was very good in the heat race. We started 4 and finished 1st. In the main we started 5th. After getting the lead on a restart Hayley got together with another car and was sent to the back. There were enough laps left in the race she was able to make her way back up to the front for the win.
In World Formula, the learning curve continues for me. In the heat mechanical issues forced an early retirement from the race with a fuel line issue. In the main we started 6th. Our luck turned and were able to make it up to 3rd where we ran the rest of the race finishing in that spot.
Our next race is in 2 weeks at our home track in LQMA - Langley Quarter Midget Association

Region Race #1 A main day.
We had to race the B main in senior Honda. We were starting 3rd. Hayley quickly got the lead and kept it through a caution filled race. With the final restart with 2 laps to go the second place car dove to the inside and grabbed the lead. The third and fourth place car followed them through putting us back to 4th. Disappointing but we did qualify for the A main, where we would start 9th. The car was decent and Hayley was making progress moving to the front. We were passing for third when the outside car came down and spun us out. We had our chain knocked off and had to start at the back after repairs. Hayley managed to fight her way back up and finished 6th.
Light 160 we started 2nd. Hayley got to the lead and that started a good battle between the top 3 cars. With multiple lead changes, even a couple of laps of 3 wide racing. Unfortunately Hayley spun and had to go to the back. While disappointing I’ve seen Hayley race her way back to the front multiple times in this car after being put to the back. True to form she started working her way through the field. She made it back to 3rd and was looking for more, when a caution came out. On what would turn out to be the final restart, she got together with another car causing them to spin. We were out to the back. The race timed out and we finished in the back. A good weekend with fast cars, just didn’t get the results we hoped for.
Our next race is in 2 weeks at our home track.
