Mills's Double-Double Not Enough As West Valley Varsity Rams Fall To Richland

West Valley Varsity Rams lost to Richland, 76-62, on Thursday even though Parker Mills scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Trailing 20-16, Richland went on a 10-point run to take the lead.

West Valley Varsity Rams bested Richland 16-13 in the first quarter, their strongest of the game.

Austin Birley scored 19 points to lead West Valley Varsity Rams. Jrayden Whitfield and Jett Bremerman each hit multiple three-pointers for West Valley Varsity Rams. The team shot 6-16 (38%) from beyond the arc. West Valley Varsity Rams rebounded the ball well, collecting 31 rebounds. Parker Mills led the team with 10 rebounds. West Valley Varsity Rams passed the ball well with nine assists on 23 made baskets. West Valley Varsity Rams stood tall, blocking three shots in the game. Additional scorers for West Valley Varsity Rams included Jrayden Whitfield (13 points), Parker Mills (11 points), Parker Hill (10 points), Jett Bremerman (8 points), and Jaiden Evans (1 point).

Richland scored at will in the paint. They went 21-34 on twos.

West Valley Varsity Rams Sneak Past Auburn

West Valley Varsity Rams narrowly defeated Auburn, 71-67, on Wednesday.

West Valley Varsity Rams held on for the win after building a 14-point lead at 61-47.

West Valley Varsity Rams went on a 12-2 run to start the game. Leading 27-26, West Valley Varsity Rams went on an 8-point run to pull further away. West Valley Varsity Rams had a strong first half, leading 29-26 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.

West Valley Varsity Rams had five assists in the first quarter, as they outscored Auburn 14-7.

Austin Birley led West Valley Varsity Rams in scoring with 22 points. Jrayden Whitfield, Jett Bremerman, and Austin Birley each hit multiple three-pointers for West Valley Varsity Rams. The team shot 9-14 (64%) from beyond the arc. Austin Birley made six of 10 free throws, and West Valley Varsity Rams attempted 29. West Valley Varsity Rams passed the ball well with 11 assists on 22 made baskets. West Valley Varsity Rams blocked six shots in the game. Parker Mills and Austin Birley each collected nine rebounds to lead West Valley Varsity Rams on the glass. Additional scorers for West Valley Varsity Rams included Parker Mills (16 points), Parker Hill (14 points), Jett Bremerman (13 points), and Jrayden Whitfield (6 points).

Auburn was deadly from inside the paint, finishing 18-27 on twos.
