The Lawrence Motorsports Auto & Trailer Sales Star Spangled Banger weekend is complete. This one was another enjoyable event, but definitely brought about some challenges. Thank you to the racers for being so patient as we dealt with the interesting weather together. Thank you to the Darana Raceway- Xenia,Ohio staff for all your hard work in making sure the racers always had the best racing surface to compete on. Now on to the results.
Friday began with a time trial for all and then racers began battling for 10k. We were able to complete some racing before rain ended our day and would roll into Saturday.
Saturday began with the priority on completing the Friday event and we were able to make progress on that before weather began to challenge us again and we were left with 17 cars in the main event. Once able to get back to racing the decision was made to combine Saturday and Sunday which would mean 2GG Heavy Duty Parts Saturday and Sunday would now be running for 30k. First round and the Re-entry round was completed and the rest would carry to Sunday. Friday’s 10k was completed with the legend Ken Sullivan picking up the win over Kurt Harrington. Charlie Polly was the semi-finalist. It was a great performance by all drivers with this race being contested over a two day period.
Sunday morning kicked off with beautiful weather and a full day of racing with two Axer Performance junior racing to be completed as well. In the 30k Taylor Cook put on an incredible performance to earn the big check over a red-lighting Anthony Trauth. Brandon Waack was the semi-finalist.
In the 1st junior dragster race the winner was Myles Ford who defeated Kaiden Travis. McKenzie Kipp was the semi-finalist.
2nd junior dragster race winner was Ralphie Stellato over Cohen Reed. Slate Sowers with the semi-final finish.
