It never hurts to bring your horse back to the snaffle. I like to work all my rope and cow horses in a snaffle and/or loping hackamore when I feel that they aren’t staying soft and in my hand. I feel it allows me to gain more body control and manipulation of the body. A humble reminder that bringing them back to the basics is sometimes all they need.
