MAJOR MAJIK.
February 8, 1996 - May 28, 2024
On May 28, 2024, my partner & best friend for 18 years, Major Majik left us for greener pastures. He was 28.
Many of you know the bond that we have & have listened to the many stories describing our adventures. Many more have seen the many ear shot pictures I have posted throughout the years. The many lessons he taught shaped the Horseman I am today.
The last two months have been extremely difficult for me. I have gone through many emotions, grief, made decisions, made more decisions, retreated inward, & traveled through so many fast changing moods, of one who has lost a very significant part of their entire being, was frightening.
I have contemplated retirement, getting out of horses, selling the farm, moving away from this area, buying a small piece of land out west & traveling around the country in an RV.
Events that have occurred over the last few days have helped me come to better terms with Majikās passing & allowed me to settle on a decision that hopefully takes me through the next years.
Iāve decided to continue my Horsemanship Journey teaching others & learning how to be a better Horseman. With that said, I also want to spend more time with my Horses. Iām very excited about all the possibilities. I have so much more to share.
So I will continue to teach others, learn, & spend time with my horses. However my travel schedule will be somewhat reduced so I have more time with my Farm & Horses. How that all plays out is yet to be determined. Iāll keep you posted.
It has been suggested that I write about my adventures with Major Majik. And after some serious thought, Iām going to give that a go. I think it will be good for me to get as much on paper as I can. Where that takes me is also exciting & unknown.
If you read this post to the end, I thank you! It has been soothing to talk in person with some of you about the Major over the past few weeks. It feels good to write this post.
In closing, I say rest well Major Majik Man. Iām forever in your debt as a mentor, teacher & friend. Thank you Buddy, you will always be a part of me & I will always be a part of you! š¤ š“
