🌺🌺 WBOCC 10th Anniversary Luau! 🌺🌺

Wrightsville Beach Outrigger Canoe Club welcomes all of its friends, supporters, past members, and current members to join us on August 30th as we celebrate TEN years of outrigger paddling in WB!

You must register beforehand as L&L Hawaiian BBQ will be catering and we'll need a head count!

We will have music provided by a trio of club members, games, and a beach front for you to enjoy. There is a silent auction for some great items. ALL proceeds go to benefit the club and support the purchase of a new canoe. Our club is growing and we want to provide a seat for every member!

Our men's team is heading back to Catalina for the US Outrigger Championships, Catalina crossing. They are looking to build on their success from 2025. Please show them some support if you can!

Several months ago, Bernadette Burton was approached about an opportunity to tell a story, one that acknowledged the pieces of her foundation which outrigger has built. The parts that sing to her soul, strengthen her, and wrap her in a far reaching Ohana, the spirit of Aloha we hope each new paddler finds with our team, these are all a part of her story. WBOCC - Wrightsville Beach Outrigger Canoe Club is a part of that Ohana, and we are so blessed to be celebrating 10 years of calling WB our home.

Bernadette was honored to create this story with Melissa Luther, a local photographer and member of our Wahine team. Be on the lookout for the print copy floating around WB soon. Mahalo!

Aloha paddling community and supporters of WBOCC!

Our president and head women's coach has been battling a rare and aggressive sarcoma since the spring of 2023. Through several surgeries and treatments, she's always bounced back, keeping her competitive spirit and fight, always supporting the club as she meets this next challenge head on. Team mates Carol Flood Giachetti, Clare Kinlaw, and Misty Brown put together two awesome events that are supporting her recovery from the most recent surgery on May 8th. You do not need to be a member of either location, and you would just call and let them know that you would like to reserve a spot. Both are donation based and all donations go directly to support Coach Bernadette in this really crappy journey. Mahalo for your continuous support!

Aloha Novice paddlers,

Unfortunately we are canceling tonight’s practice once again. The weather is unstable with high winds predicted. 17 with gusts to 24.

Don't give up hope!
Sunday, May 17, from 10 -noon will be an official make up day. Clare, Gayle and Susan will determine a few more make-up days and post on Team Snap asap.

We always hate to cancel practices, but safety always comes first!
