As race weekend gets closer, remember that recovery is part of the process.
These final weeks can be challenging mentally. You may feel like you need to do more, run farther, or make up for a workout you missed. This is the time to remind yourself that you have already put in the work. Your body needs recovery so that work can show up on race day.
Here are three reminders as you move closer to the starting line:
Give yourself permission to rest. Rest days help your body recover, rebuild, and become stronger.
Stay with your training plan. More miles are not always better. Trust what you have already done, and do not try to make up for missed workouts.
Focus on how far you have come. Do not let one difficult run make you question your entire training journey.
Listen to your body, take care of yourself, and trust the process. You do not need to arrive at the starting line tired from doing more. You want to arrive feeling healthy, prepared, and ready to race.
