So if you haven’t heard already, Jim and I have finished our stewardship of the BRRC IDPA club and have begun the preparations to transition that responsibility to a new (or maybe even old) Match Direction team (to be announced).
We are looking forward to what a fresh perspective will bring to the IDPA Club and to the monthly matches that were a labor of love for us for the past several years.
You should still see us at matches, and likely helping for setup and/or takedown, but both of us are looking forward to participating as competitors, rather than facillitators.
On a personal note, it has been an absolute privilege to serve this community as a match director for the last 5 years. The friendships I’ve been blessed to make during that time are invaluable to me, and really kept the gas in my tank when I should have been running on empty. I’m proud of what we did together as a club, and stand by the claim that you couldn’t find a better monthly IDPA experience for hours in any direction.
The incoming team are inheriting a great group of competitors, and a fantastic opportunity to make IDPA at BRRC even better. I can’t wait to find out what’s in store for us together.
Finally, let me just say thank you to all of our volunteers who took our collective intent and made them into real matches with real stages that we can shoot, and then magically turn them into empty bays again. Steve, Kirk, Tom and Nate especially, as I think they helped more consistantly than I did. Also a huge thank you to everyone that dedicated hours and even their entire weekend to help provide the wider IDPA community an awesome match. Lastly, but not lastly, thanks to BRRC for letting us play in their yard.
Stay safe, shoot straight, and I’ll see you on the range!

P.S. As far as I know, the November match is still a GO.
