Barbarians Youth Rugby The Wrentham Barbarians is a youth rugby club in Wrentham, MA dedicated to teaching and growing rugby

The Wrentham Barbarians Youth Flag and Tackle Rugby programs for boys and girls in Grades PK through 12, run Sunday mornings, 9 AM to 10:30 AM, at the William A. Rice Recreational Area soccer fields behind the basketball courts. The program involves skills training on basic rules, ball handling, passing, and kicking. Players are required to bring a mouth guard and should wear what they would norma

lly wear for football or soccer. The coaches promote Safety as Rule #1, making sure the field is safe to play on, making sure the players are respectful to one another and do not deliberately hurt each other. Players will be trained and played in groups based on the safety issues of age, skill, size and team awareness. We're proud of all our players, but today let's take a moment to celebrate the success of our own Jill Hamilton, who, this Fall, will bring her rugby talents to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Congratulations, Jill!

I know what you're thinking... those aren't our usual Barbarian unis. You'd be right! Here's why this will happen more and more.

During our journey north to the Lighthouse 7s tournament in Portland, ME, our team combined with players from other squads in order to play a women's only competition - that's important as we grow the game for women.

Ok, so there we are in this teal color. But you know us, we can't be the 'teal team' so we voted and quickly decided to be 'The Titans!'

You'd have been proud of their spirited play but if you missed them playing in Maine don't worry because it looks like there will be a repeat performance this weekend at Bowdoin University. Stay tuned for more details.

Go...uhm...errr... Tibarians!?!
