The aerobic classes are always full in January...ahhh, those New Years Resolutions... try using visualizations to personalize the movements - so your're not just mindlessly following the instructor - then those steps, kicks, lunges, etc... will be right for YOUR body. Its a tool that keeps you motivated, engagaged and safe.

Friday Fitness Tip....After a holiday shopping trip when you leave the stores feeling wiped out - do some cardio! It seems like the last thing your body would want, but the increased oxygen from moving your body totally re-energizes you.

The return of the Friday Fitness Tip....want to kick that morning cup of coffee or just looking for a warm, spicy drink for fall??? Try some Bengal spice tea with slices of fresh ginger, topped with vanilla soy or almond milk!! It's a healthy, chai

Friday Fitness Tip......After your at your desk for awhile, stand up and do this movement to integrate the right and left sides of your brain. Stand in place and do an exagerated walk, lifting the right knee while swinging the left arm forward and slightly across your body, then the left knee with the right arm. Do the movement for 30 seconds and feel energized, think more clearly and move with better coordination.

Fitness Tip...."I look forward to a healthy old age because I take loving care of my body now" (Thanks Louise Hay) If we could embrace this affirmation, it totally changes the way we look at our workout, our diet - not to mention, our body! There would be no fear or negative emotions driving our fitness/food plans now.... AND, it certainly feels like a much more powerful way to age!

Friday Fitness Tip.....ok, I'm talking about quinoa again. It is a great grain, gives us all 8 amino acids, great source of protein, potassium, iron, zinc, and the B vitamins ...and it is easy to cook! Try it instead of rice

Friday Fitness Tip...Just finished a class and discussion of "Toned Arms" was a focus. Remember to "tone" your arms throughout your day by mindfully using them! Carrying groceries, laundry, picking up your pet, kids, your purse - notice how many things we lift each and every day.
