We made a donation to the Minnesota DNR to get this program started a number of years ago. This is a great example of how we distribute funds to help improve lake access and fishing throughout southwest Minnesota and beyond.

After many years of trying to recruit new board members, we have about run the tank dry. So this summer we will not be having any tournaments as we are down to 5 people with 2 being married and expecting.

We will leave memberships optional if you’d like to help keep the club going. We would still love to fulfill our pledge to the new fish cleaning shack. But, this year it is just too tough to pull off anything more than membership payments to SW Mn Fishing Club PO Box 4 Worthington Mn 56187

We do intend through friends to still have The Otter Memorial but details will have to be determined. While it may seem to be not much work, there is quite a bit more to it than many know. We are sorry, but need to tend to things personally as well.

Today, with another full roster of 100 anglers in 50 boats, we honored our friend Otter. The Brian Otter Lickness Memorial Walleye tournament was won by Chad Jeffers and Travis Frazee, 2nd was Dave and Dan Frisch, 3rd Tyler Engelkes and Marc Janssen, 4th Troy Langland and Matt Lowe, and 5th Larry Andersen and Matt Nelson. Many walleye were caught and the vast majority were released, including all that were over 22 inches!
