Here is a photo of the scoring rings for the Safari shoot this weekend

Here is an example of the scoring for this weekend's safari shoot. Archers will shoot 2 arrows at each target with the center orange dot having a value of 11, the "Lung" size vitals traced in black scoring 10, and anything in the foam scoring 8. Arrows touching a scoring ring will receive the higher score.

This weekend, Andrew took a group of our JOAD students and their parents down to Buckridge Bowhunters for their first ever 3D shoot. It was a warm day but it was an absolute blast. There were plenty of learning experiences and memories made that day.

We did something new at JOAD last night. The past couple weeks on the State and National level, field archery has been front and center. We decided to take our JOAD students around our field course at SWBB and teach them a little bit about field archery. The education aspect of JOAD may get our students a little antsy but it seemed like everyone learned a little something. It was a lot of fun teaching and watching our students learn a new part of the sport, especially considering how field archery is slowly becoming less and less popular.

It's looking like we are in for another hot weekend. If you're looking for something to do and can stand the heat, two clubs from our area are having 3d shoots this weekend. Both are absolutely amazing courses and we highly suggest giving them a try. Go have some fun and support our friends at Buckridge Bowhunters and Saratoga Archery Club

The course is set up and ready for our 2d/3d shoot tomorrow. It runs from 9am until 2 pm. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids (17 and under) and it's all you can shoot. Shoot one round, 3 rounds, or all day, it's up to you. We hope to see you there!
