“Goals Beyond The Game” invites young artists of African descent in Worcester county to create artwork that celebrates Africa's powerful journey in world football (soccer) - from the historic 1966 FIFA boycott to the unprecedented moment of nine (9) African nations qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
The exhibition will be held on June 13, 2026, at the Jean McDonough Arts Center (JMAC) in Worcester.
Selected works will honor African identity, resilience, and unity through the lens of art and sport.

Annual Worcester St. Patrick's Day parade on March 15, 2026.

July 4, 2026 celebration of America’s 250th anniversary Soccer event at Lake Park plus a cookout.

Www.unitystreetsoccer.org 2025 free Girls soccer season was a heartfelt tribute to my amazing Ma, affectionately known as Madam by everyone in south Kumasi back in the 80’s. She was a teacher back then and was remarkably laid-back. She always dreamed of one day teaching again, but life had other plans, and I’m grateful i get to teach sports & Soccer now. The thing is, I wasn’t exactly a goid soccer player as a kid, but she had a way of making me feel like I was the best player ever, and that feeling has stayed with me. It was a truly triumphant soccer year. Our children and us witnessed Unity Street Soccer, our non-profit sports organization, start a successful 1st year, a testament to my mom’s enduring legacy. A little over 80 girls were able to play soccer for free over the course of 15 weeks, and it was incredible to see them care free & thriving
