Cooper’s Farm is only 3/4 miles from home. So I walked up there this morning to buy a gallon of chocolate milk.It’s nice out and it only took 15 minutes to get there.On the way back, I trespassed through someone’s yard that had an old clothes line so I could do a quick set of Pull Ups.

Here is the introduction of a free tutorial video series on working out.

This video explains how I design programs for upper body exercises.

I don’t think in terms of training arms and legs or body parts.

I divide upper body strength training into 4 categories, based on the fact that we push and pull both horizontally and vertically.

Subsequent videos will provide examples of exercises for:

1. Horizontal Push
2. Vertical Push
3. Horizontal Pull
4. Vertical Pull

These 2 pictures were taken during special moments while Strength Training.

What's special about these moments is allowing the girls to spend time actually having some real conversations while we were resting.

In the picture with the 3 Volleyball girls, we were talking about how they also ran Track at school.

One of the girls told me she ate 2 McDoubles from McDonalds during a meet, which blew my mind.

This opened the door, and their minds, to a discussion about nutrition and eating right.

In the picture with the 9 softball girls, I had shared some chew able Vitamin C with them as it was Winter and it can be just about impossible to not get sick during cold and flu season.

After talking about staying healthy, the topic switched to mental health when a couple of the girls told me how a student they knew committed su***de.

We never know what may be going on in kids lives.

Getting them to open up and talk can be tricky.

And getting them to actually LISTEN so that we can TEACH them can be a challenge.

So, giving them the time and space to share what is important in their lives is very important, and, those moments can be very powerful.
