We seem to have a problem with people using the wetland pond other than observing the delicate pond for our amphibians.
Yesterday some father and son were magnet dragging the pond for metal. ???? Thank goodness a smart Friend of the Park visitor explained to them that it was not permitted and they left. Other uneducated people are throwing sticks in the pond for their dogs to fetch while others have tried fishing AND I have seen kids throw rocks and branches in the pond, too ! There are NO fish in that shallow pond!! It is hard to understand with all the signs up that they still feel that it is ok. Please be safe and remind people that the wetland pond and observation deck is for learning about nature, not trying to destroy it! Thanks.
