Rocket City Practical Shooters are Northern Alabama's practical pistol shooting
club affiliated with the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA).

Our matches are held at Cavern Cove Shooting Range located at 373 Ambush Trail, Woodville, Alabama 35776. Spectators are always welcome and there's no range fee to watch. Simply bring eye and ear protection and sign a waiver if you don't have a current one for the year on file.

Registration is open for the September 19 United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) match. Register at https://clubs.practiscore.com/rcps-uspsa-september-12-1/register. Check in for the match starts at 9:15 a.m., so please be at the range no later than (NLT) 9:30 a.m. to sign in so we can get our match brief out of the way and be shooting by 10:00 a.m.

Registration is also open for the September 26 Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) match. This is a great match to try if you're new to competitive shooting. Register at https://clubs.practiscore.com/rcps-scsa-september-26/register. Check in starts at 9:00 a.m., so please be at the range NLT 9:15 a.m. to sign in so we can get our match brief out of the way and be shooting by 10:00 a.m. New shooter safety briefing at 9:30 a.m.

The Practical Competition Shooting League (PCSL) match will be on September 27. PCSL 2-Gun matches are similar to 3-Gun but use only a pistol and rifle/carbine. Ladies and Gentlemen,

VERY IMPORTANT: THE MATCH WILL BEGIN AT 9:00 a.m.

Registration will close August 28 at 5:00 p.m. but you can still "walk on" at check in if you are too late to register online. If all the squads appear to be full, sign up anyway; we'll make sure you get to compete.

THIS WILL BE AN EIGHT STAGE MATCH, so 250 rounds per firearm should be enough, including any makeups.

Check in starts at 8:00 a.m. and will CLOSE at 8:45 a.m., so please allow enough time to sign in so we can get our match brief out of the way and be shooting by 9:00 a.m. New shooter safety briefing is at 8:30 a.m. If you're new to Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA), haven't shot in over a year, or haven't shot at our range, please arrive in time to check in and attend this briefing.

The following are VERY IMPORTANT, so please read:

- Eye and ear protection are required for competitors and spectators!

- Spectators are welcome, but must sign a waiver at check in if they don't have one on file for the current calendar year.

- Come prepared and have your firearm already sighted in. No sighting in or "checking your dot" after the match starts.

- Long guns must have a chamber flag and be cased or in a cart/wagon.

- Holsters must cover the trigger guard. Inside the waist band and shoulder holsters are prohibited. Drop leg holsters are also prohibited (except for law enforcement or military personnel using duty equipment). Also, drawing from concealed carry is prohibited.

- Strap down holsters are not permitted if the heel of the the butt of the handgun is below the top of the belt (USPSA Rule 5.2.11).

Please bring cash or check if you don't pay in advance online. We do not have a credit card reader or ATM on site. No currency larger than a $20 bill or we may have trouble making change.

VERY IMPORTANT: The AUGUST 29 match WILL START AT 9:00 a.m. CHECK IN WILL BEGIN AT 8:00 a.m. AND THE NEW SHOOTER'S BRIEFING WILL BE AT 8:30. Registration is at https://practiscore.com/rcps-scsa-august-29/register The 29 August match will be EIGHT STAGES, so bring at least 250 rounds.
