⚾ BW Baseball is headed to the sectional tournament for the first time since 2008!⚾

The Sectional Semi-Final is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9th at 10:00 AM as they take on Somerset in Altoona. If BW wins, they’ll play in the Sectional Championship against the winner of Wisconsin Dells vs. Aquinas at 4:00 PM later that afternoon.

There is a livestream through Altoona (the host site), BUT it has a $5 subscription/access fee involved as it is through HUDL. We have no affiliation, just wanted to share another way to watch if you cannot make it there in person.

BLACKHAWK UPDATE

#1 Softball beat Altoona 6-3 last Thursday, advancing them to the sectional semi-final game tomorrow at HOME! Catch them at 5 PM at Millpond. A win advances them to the sectional final game (hosted by Altoona) on Thursday, June 4th. A win there sends them to State in Madison!

#5 Baseball defeated SCC last week 5-3. They've earned themselves a scenic 3.5-hour drive to Eagle River to take on #4 Northland Pines tomorrow. That game will also be at 5 PM. Four more wins would bring them to State in Grand Chute.

Track and Field advanced two athletes to the State Meet in La Crosse this Friday and Saturday (June 5th and 6th).

Alec Boyer took 3rd overall in Discus with a throw of 156' 11". He will have one more chance to break the school record of 157' 6", which has been held since 1983 by Terry Larson. Alec competes Friday evening.

Gabe Schommer is making his fourth appearance at the state meet, repeating last year's feat as a qualifier in the WC Shot Put, WC 800, and WC 1600. His Shot Put and 800 races are Friday night, and the 1600 is Saturday around 1 PM.

Golf: Jackson Perry competes in Spooner at the sectional golf tournament this Wednesday. The top 3 individuals not on an advancing team will qualify for State in Madison.

Tennis competed last Thursday and Friday at Sectionals. Siraj Whirry and Rhett Carlson lost a tough one (6-3, 6-4) to Lakeland Union. Merrick Paulson and Cole Letter lost 6-2, 6-0 to Altoona, but bounced back to win an absolute battle for 3rd place [7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 10-7] against Lakeland Union.

Soccer: The WIAA tournament begins Tuesday, June 2nd. Our Blackhawks have a first-round bye, so they will play Spooner/Shell Lake this Thursday, June 4th at 7 PM. Three wins brings them to State in Milwaukee.

Keep the playoff runs going!

Congratulations to Dane Veenendall on breaking a record held since 1986 by one of the B-W all time great athletes, Erik Hegerle. 15.1 was a record matched three other times since then, Tim Gilbertson in 1995, Chris Lightfoot in 1997, and Caleb VanRoekel in 2004. Dane finally breaks the 4 way tie. This is his 4th school record.

The #1 public fundraising school in the United States is having its annual KHC celebration!

With Greenfield Elementary raising over $100,000 for this year's Kids Heart Challenge, the PE teachers, the Principal, and three "secret" staff members will dress like dogs for the day. Additionally, they will eat dog food out of dog bowls or have "dog drool" dumped over their heads. Join in on the fun around 1:40 PM this afternoon through our livestream!
