A lot of hockey happens between the plays. Being able to stop, start, turn, and change direction quickly helps players stay in position, create opportunities, and react faster when the game speeds up.
This summer, try focusing on agility and edgework. The better a player can move, the more confident they become with the puck and without it.
You don't always notice these skills on the scoresheet, but they're often what make the biggest difference on the rink!
