"For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer." (1 Timothy 4:4-5)

Think about the equipment we use on the archery range. A bow, an arrow, a target, and a field. On their own, they are just ordinary, everyday items used for a recreational sport. But when we bring them before God with thankful hearts, something incredible happens: He sets them apart for an extraordinary purpose.

Paul reminds us in this letter to Timothy that everything God created is fundamentally good when received with gratitude. When we take a fun life skill like archery, anchor it in the truth of Scripture, and lift it up in prayer, it becomes so much more than target practice. It becomes holy ground. It becomes a powerful tool for ministry, a bridge to connect families, and an open door to share the Gospel.

God loves to use our everyday passions for His eternal glory. When we overlay our hobbies, our skills, and our time with His Word and prayer, He consecrates them. He transforms a simple afternoon on the range into a life-changing moment where a heart can be pointed toward truth.

Today, let's look at the gifts, hobbies, and talents God has given us with fresh eyes. When we receive them with thanksgiving and dedicate them to Him, there is no limit to how He can use them to hit the ultimate target.

"But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’" (Jonah 2:9)

Jonah knew exactly what it felt like to completely miss the mark. Instead of aiming for the target God had set before him, he chose to run in the exact opposite direction. His stray path ultimately landed him in the darkest, most confined place imaginable: the belly of a giant fish.

Yet, it was in that deep, overwhelming valley that Jonah chose to reset his focus. He could not see the horizon, let alone a physical target, but he knew exactly where to direct his heart. He did not offer excuses or complain about his circumstances. Instead, he offered shouts of grateful praise.

On the archery range, a stray arrow or a bad round can be frustrating. In life, it is even easier to feel discouraged when we make mistakes or find ourselves in a difficult season. But Jonah reminds us of the ultimate truth that changes everything: Salvation comes from the Lord. We cannot rescue ourselves through a flawless performance, a perfect score, or our own human strength. Our hope, our grace, and our future rest entirely in the hands of a loving God. Today, no matter where you find yourself standing, lift your eyes, offer Him your praise, and make Him the true target of your life.

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever." (Psalm 136:1)

Spend an afternoon on the archery range, and you quickly realize that human endurance has its limits. After pulling back the bowstring time after time, your muscles start to fatigue. Your stance might waver, your grip loosens, and your energy eventually drains. As human beings, we simply run out of strength.

It is easy to view our relationship with God through that same lens of exhaustion. When we have a tough week, feel spiritually drained, or repeatedly miss the mark, we might wonder if God's patience or love will eventually wear thin.

But the Psalmist gives us a beautiful, comforting truth to lean into: God's love never fatigues. His grace does not have a breaking point, and His kindness never runs out of strength. When we make Christ the target of our lives, we are locking our focus onto a Savior whose goodness is completely infinite. His love endures through our highest mountaintops and our deepest valleys, through every perfect bullseye and every stray arrow.

Today, you do not have to rely on your own strength to get through. Step up to the line, reset your focus, and give thanks to the One whose love will never give up on you.

"You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God." (2 Corinthians 9:11)

Think about a full quiver. God does not just give us enough arrows for our own target practice; He fills our lives to overflowing. He enriches us with skills, resources, time, and most importantly, the life-changing truth of the Gospel. But those blessings are never meant to be hoarded in our own quivers.

In archery, there is a distinct joy in sharing the sport with someone else, leveling the playing field, and helping a beginner find their footing. The spiritual gifts and provisions God pours into us work the exact same way. They are meant to be shared generously with the community around us.

When we invest our time, open our hearts, and share the love of Christ with families and neighbors, something incredible happens. Our obedience creates a beautiful ripple effect. Your willingness to step up and give back becomes the exact bridge someone else needs to experience the grace of God, ultimately resulting in an overflow of thanksgiving to Him.

Let's live with open hands today, using every tool and blessing we have been given to point others toward the ultimate Target.

"Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, 'Jesus, Master, have pity on us!' When he saw them, he said, 'Go, show yourselves to the priests.' And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him (and he was a Samaritan). Jesus asked, 'Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?' Then he said to him, 'Rise and go; your faith has made you well.'" (Luke 17:11-19)

On the archery range, it is easy to get caught up in the fast rhythm of shooting. You draw back the string, release, watch the arrow hit the target, and almost instantly reach into your quiver for the next one. Sometimes we are so focused on the next shot that we completely forget to pause, reset, and appreciate the moment.

In this passage, ten men received an incredible, life-altering miracle from Jesus. Yet, nine of them immediately rushed off to enjoy their new lives, completely forgetting the Source of their healing. Only one man stopped in his tracks, turned around, and ran back to throw himself at Jesus' feet in gratitude.

It is a convicting reminder for our daily lives. How often do we pray for God's help, receive His abundant blessings, and then instantly sprint off into our busy schedules without pausing to say thank you?

Making Christ the target of our lives means living with an intentional posture of gratitude. True faith doesn't just look forward to the next blessing; it looks back to thank the Giver. Today, let's not be like the nine who walked away. Let's pause, reflect on God's goodness, and return to Him with hearts full of praise.

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

When you step up to the shooting line, it doesn't matter what your last flight looked like. A missed target or a stray arrow from a previous round cannot change the clean target standing right in front of you. Every single time you step up and draw back the bowstring, you are looking at a brand new opportunity to focus, aim, and shoot.

Life works the very same way. God treats each morning as a completely fresh start for us. It is so easy to get caught up replaying yesterday's misses or worrying about tomorrow's challenges, but the Psalmist reminds us that today is a specific, intentional gift designed by the Creator.

When we choose to make Christ the target of our lives, every day becomes a reason to celebrate. We can rejoice in His grace, enjoy the blessing of family, and take genuine joy in the present moment. Let's steady our stance, focus our eyes, and live fully in the beautiful day He has given us.

"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe," (Hebrews 12:28)

Ask any archer and they will tell you that a steady stance is everything. If your footing is unstable, or if your hands are shaking when you draw back the bowstring, your arrow is bound to miss the target. To shoot with confidence, you need a solid, unmoving foundation.

Life has a way of trying to shake our foundations. Circumstances change, unexpected trials come our way, and the world around us can feel incredibly unsteady. It is easy to feel off-balance and lose our focus.

But as believers, we are anchored in something entirely different. We belong to a Kingdom that is absolutely unshakeable. God's truth, His promises, and His love for us cannot be moved by the chaos of this world. When we plant our feet firmly in His grace, we find the ultimate stability.

Knowing that our foundation is secure gives us a deep reason to be thankful. Today, let's step up to the line of life with confidence, drawing strength from our unshakeable God and worshiping Him with the reverence and awe He deserves.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34)

When you pull back a bowstring, you rely on a few constants: your stance, your anchor point, and your focus. But even on our best days on the range, arrows can stray, gear can wear out, and our focus can slip. Nothing physical stays perfect forever.

But there is one thing in this life that is completely unshakeable: the goodness of God.

No matter how many times we miss the mark, God's love remains absolute. His grace doesn't fluctuate based on our performance, our mistakes, or our score. It endures through every single season. When we realize just how steady His heart is toward us, our only natural response is overflow with gratitude.

Today, let's step up to the line with thankful hearts. Let's celebrate the gift of family, the joy of the range, and the enduring love of a Savior who never changes.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. — James 1:17

On the archery range, consistency is everything. If your target is constantly moving, or if the shadows keep shifting across your line of sight, hitting the bullseye becomes nearly impossible.

Life can feel a lot like that sometimes. Priorities shift, circumstances change, and the world around us can feel incredibly unsteady. But James reminds us of a beautiful, grounding truth: God never changes. He is the ultimate anchor, a steady and perfect focus for our lives.

Every good thing we enjoy, from the life skill of archery to the laughter shared with family on the range, is a gift straight from Him. When we lock our eyes on Him, we are aiming at a target that is forever true, forever steady, and forever loving.

This week, let’s stop chasing shifting shadows. Let’s steady our stance, draw back with confidence, and make Christ the true target of our lives.

"Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits..." (Psalm 103:1-2)

When we step up to the shooting line, it is easy to let distractions pull our eyes away from the center ring. Archery teaches us to block out the noise, steady our stance, and focus entirely on the target. The same is true in our daily walk with God.

Life will constantly try to pull your focus away, but David reminds us to intentionally aim our hearts at the Lord and remember His incredible benefits. Here at Rem-Net Ministries, our prayer is to help families make Christ the target of their lives, both on and off the range. When we center our focus on His grace and forgiveness, our strength is completely renewed. Today, take a breath, anchor your trust in Him, and release your worries.

"...who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s." (Psalm 103:3-5)
