Cross-country skiing provides high-end aerobic training, full-body strength, and a low-impact activity that can translate to running when done correctly. We think it's one of the smartest off-season tools available, especially for trail runners.

On average, cross-country skiers consume 8.7 kilos of CO2 equivalent per day. The author specifies that this is " five times less than a day of downhill skiing ," the footprint of which is estimated at 43.2 kilos of CO2 equivalent according to a study by Utopies.
