Exciting news for recent graduate and angler from the fishing team. Austin Nicolai and his Student Angler Federation partner Wyatt Couve will be headed to Lake Cumberland in Kentucky to fish the High School Fishing World Finals. The duo will practice June 21-23 and competition begins Wed June 24th. The anglers narrowly missed out on the opportunity to fish The Bass Federation National Championship that is held in conjunction with Worlds. We wish Austin and Wyatt and their families safe travels and tight lines.

The D200 school board recognized WNHS State Bass Fishing Qualifiers Austin Nicolai and Gabe Patterson at their board meeting tonight, along with all of the Track and Field State Qualifiers. Gabe unfortunately could not attend.

Solid day 2 for Gabe Patterson and Austin Nicolai at the ISHA Bass Fishing State Finals. The duo brought another limit to the scales for 9 for a 2 day total of 19 . Final results after a tie breaker puts them in 19th place in the 60 boat final. Way to finish the season and your IHSA bass fishing career out strong boys!

Gabe Patterson and Austin Nicolai brought a 5 fish limit to the scales on day 1 of the IHSA state finals for 10 # even, putting them in 20th place. Tomorrow is moving day as it's called in tournament fishing, stay tuned to see how they do. Great job fellas!

Safe travels and tight lines to Gabe Patterson and Austin Nicolai as they leave today for the IHSA Bass Fishing State Finals on Lake Shelbyville. Tomorrow is practice day with competition starting on Friday and continuing on Saturday. The day started slow for Austin Nicolai today on Lake Springfield with only 2 in the boat and less than 30 minutes til he was due to check in he switched things up and found the last 3 to fill his limit. His 9 day 2 weight added to day 1 gave him an overall 2 day total of 19 and 14th place overall in the 60 boat Clash Championship field. Congratulations Austin way to stick with it and fish til the end.

Austin Nicolai was on Lake Springfield today for day 1 of the ICASSTT Clash Championship. He brought a limit to the scales for 10 tying for 15th place. Boats go out tomorrow in placement order after today. Nice work Austin.

Congratulations to Woodstock boat #1 Gabe Patterson and Austin Nicolai for bringing a limit to the scales weighing 11.35 # and securing 2nd place in today's IHSA Sectionals, securing a trip to Lake Shelbyville for the State Finals.
The duo of JJ Stokes and Lucio Marasco brought a limit to the scales as well for 8.65 # and a 21st place finish.
Weights were super tight today, congratulations to all teams as everyone weighed in fish.

Tight lines to JJ and Lucio with Coach Penuel today on Woodstock boat #2 going out as boat #13, and Gabe and Austin with captain Jason on Woodstock boat #1 going out boat #22 today for IHSA Sectionals. Boats are due in at 3 pm with top 10 moving on to State Finals in June. Go get 'em boys.
