High Wildfire Danger expected over the next few days across the state, thanks to extended drought condtions for a good portion of the state, and the growing season has started. There will be an increased fire danger, low relative humidity and limited rainfall (a few storms tomorrow afternoon, possible east), and gusty winds will lead to an increased risk of fires.

Residents and visitors are urged to properly dispose of cigarette butts, matches, and any other flammable items in appropriate containers. Additionally, exercise caution if operating any equipment that could create sparks and keep vehicles off of dry
grass. Most dry grasses, dead leaves, and other tree litter could easily ignite and spread fire quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

We were honored to host Robin Greenfield on his national “Year Of Foraging Tour” this past weekend, welcoming guests from across for a day of learning, connection, and time on the land.

Robin shared a powerful message centered on self-reliance and awareness of the natural resources all around us, which felt especially fitting in this setting.

We’re grateful to Happy Roots for organizing and coordinating, to all the park guests—both returning visitors and many first-timers—and even to the weather for holding out for us!

Thank you all for being here and we hope you’ll come back soon!
