REMINDER! Auditions for our next Rising Stars Production are THIS WEEKEND!

Young Performers ages 7 through 12 are welcome to audition!

Deciding last minute to audition? Never fear - we've got you covered! Just follow these important steps:

1. Visit our Youth Auditions page for all important audition and performance information: www.woodlandoperahouse.org/youthauditions
2. Have your child select one of the 3 listed songs on the audition notice, one of the quick acting sides to memorize, and learn the dance audition via the video link posted. The songs will include a link to a folder containing the vocal track, accompaniment, and lyrics.
3. Email [email protected] for both the parent information meeting video (it'll answer all your important questions!) and the link to sign up to audition.

Auditions will be held at our Theatre and Dance Annex (not the theatre!) - 520 Court Street, Woodland (across from the library).

We look forward to seeing those auditioning tomorrow or Sunday!!

Our very own Ethan Wylene is currently in New York working on videos featuring choreography for FOUR BRAND-NEW Broadway Junior titles with iTheatrics!

Ethan auditioned for this opportunity at the Junior Theatre Festival West back in February and was notified shortly afterward that he had been selected.

While in New York, Ethan will be learning choreography that will be filmed and included in the Director's ShowKit when these titles are licensed by theatres, schools, and community groups across the country.

Following this project, Ethan will remain in New York to participate in one of iTheatrics' summer programs, where he will perform in a brand-new pilot production.

We are proud to have Ethan representing the Woodland Opera House and wish him all the best as he takes part in these exciting opportunities!

Today marks five years since Andrea St. Clair stepped into the role of Education Director at Woodland Opera House.

Since June 2021, Andrea has helped lead the continued growth and expansion of our Education Program, creating new opportunities for students and our community both onstage and in the classroom.

During her tenure, Woodland Opera House has expanded its Arts in Schools partnerships to include Esparto and Winters Unified School Districts, introduced themed Musical Theatre Workshops, expanded our annual holiday ballet, The Nutcracker “Sweet” to include Peter and the Wolf, and continued to grow programs such as ShowBiz Kidz, Rising Stars productions, and our Teacher Apprentice Program.

Under Andrea’s leadership, Woodland Opera House students have earned national recognition through the Junior Theater Festival, including an Outstanding Production Award (for Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical JR.), and participated in Disney’s pilot production of Dare to Dream JR. as part of the show’s West Coast premiere development.

Most importantly, Andrea has remained committed to creating a welcoming environment where every student can build confidence, creativity, leadership skills, and a lifelong love of the arts.

Please join us in congratulating Andrea on five years of service to Woodland Opera House and the hundreds of students and families who have been part of the Education Program during that time.

Last week, our Education Director, Andrea St. Clair, and Music Director, Jia-Min Rosendale, were featured on Your California Life chatting about this summer's ShowBiz Kidz program with host, Desiree Sheppard.

Our annual musical theatre summer camp, ShowBiz Kidz, is now in its 29th year and a popular Yolo County tradition amongst families in the area! This year's theme is....The Wild, Wild West!

This is the camp where every kid gets a chance to share the spotlight!

BOYS DANCE ATHLETICS IS BACK for our 2026-27 Dance Season!

Our popular Boys Dance Athletics class is back for the upcoming academic dance season, and we have 2 class offerings this time around:

9 am: Ages 8 to 12 years old
10 am: Ages 13 to 17 years old

Our Boys Dance Athletics classes carry *no monthly tuition* and require no dance experience. Just a passion for learning and the courage to put oneself out there to have fun and build dance athletic skills. Dance technique covers ballet, jazz, and hip-hop styles in this fun fusion class taught by teaching artist Erik Catalan.
