Earlier this year in Japan, I was promoted to 5th Degree Black Belt.

This achievement came a little later than I once imagined. Life took me away from karate for 7 years, and coming back wasn’t easy. But through discipline, perseverance, and the support of my mentors, training partners, family, and friends, I found my way back to the dojo — and back to myself.

Standing on the mats in Japan, the birthplace of martial arts tradition, and receiving this promotion reminded me that the journey is never about speed — it’s about dedication and resilience.

It’s never too late to chase your passion.
