It's that time of year, when End Of Year awards are being sent out! Friday our Champion Ribbon from the IDHSNA for In Hand Level 1 came, on Saturday we got a package from USEF PHR and inside was a Region/Zone Champion ribbon, and on Sunday I finally got around to framing the USDF All-Breeds Champion Medal and Award. Not to shabby for a little man who first birth day isn't for another week!

Today was the gelding clinic and Aldis became "a better man". I think it might have been the first time I've EVER heard a rescue volunteer ever even suggest NOT GELDING and keeping him intact as a stallion prospect. I almost changed my mind and packed him up to go home, but then he almost ran over and trampled the vet trying to give him a shot, and then I remembered why he was there ... BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS A STALLION. While he had an outstanding show season as a foal, he has a better long term, life time outlook as a solid, well built, gelding with an good mind and even temperament.

Also the vet said he his testicals were super cute and adorable. Video to come. Because yes, I document everything and I thought it might keep the husband in line. :D

Woohoo! I won 2 breeding doses (frozen) to RID stallion, Touch Of The Blues via the Leg-Up Equestrian Assistance Program charity auction! I am always thrilled when I can support a great cause when it was something I was going to do anyways.

Our c**t Aldis (Conin Dearg O'Donnell) won both the 2012 USDF All-Breeds Champion (IDHSNA, Current Year Foal) as well as the 2012 IDHSNA In-Hand Level 1 Champion, and hopefully this auction win will result in the 2014 Champion!
