🚨 BIG NEWS FOR AMITY FENCING CLUB! 🤺🔥

We are incredibly excited to officially announce that Olympian and Olympic Coach Virgil Saliscan has joined the Amity Fencing Club coaching team!

Coach Virgil brings an exceptional level of international fencing experience to our athletes — both as an elite competitor and as a coach at the highest level of our sport.

🏅 2008 Beijing Olympian — Men’s Foil
🇷🇴 Former Romanian National Team Coach
🇫🇷 Olympic Coach — Paris 2024
🏆 5-Time Romanian National Champion
🌍 11th Place — European Championships
🥉 Junior European Championship Bronze Medalist
🤺 Former Coach at OnTarget Fencing Club in Maryland

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Coach Virgil represented Romania as the coach of Olympic foil fencer Mălina Călugăreanu, bringing Olympic-level coaching experience directly to our program.

Coach Virgil is now officially part of Amity Fencing Club, and his arrival represents another major step in strengthening our Competitive Program and building a high-performance training environment for athletes who want to compete at the regional, national, and international levels.

This is a rare opportunity for fencers in Washington State to train regularly with a coach who has experienced the Olympic Games from both sides of the strip — as an athlete and as a coach.

If you or your child is serious about competitive fencing and would like the opportunity to train with Coach Virgil Saliscan, please contact us for information about our Competitive Program and private lessons.

Welcome to Amity, Coach Virgil! 💜🤺

The next chapter starts now.

Ever wondered what it’s like to travel for fencing?

Coach George was in Cleveland, Ohio at the North American Cup (NAC)—experiencing what national-level competition is all about.

Here’s what fencers learn when they travel:
✈️ How to prepare and stay focused
⚔️ How to compete against top athletes
🧠 How to adapt under pressure
💪 How to grow through every bout

This is more than a tournament—it’s part of the journey.
👉 One day, this could be YOU.

Why does fencing have 3 weapons?
Because fencing isn’t just about hitting—it’s about developing complete athletes.
Each weapon builds something different:
⚔️ Foil → discipline, timing, and tactical thinking
⚔️ Épée → patience, distance control, and decision-making
⚔️ Saber → speed, confidence, and explosive reactions
Together, they create fencers who can adapt, think, and perform under pressure.
At Amity Fencing Club, we don’t just teach fencing—
we teach athletes how to think.
