🎾 SCHEDULE CHANGE STARTING THIS SUNDAY! ⏰

As our fall evenings get a little shorter, it’s time to make the most of our daylight!

Beginning this Sunday, ERAA Youth Tennis practice will move up by 30 minutes:

⏰ NEW TIME: 6:00–7:00 PM
📍 East Ridge High School Tennis Courts

Please make a note of the new time and plan to arrive ready to hit the courts at 6:00 PM.

Same courts. Same tennis fun. Just a little earlier! 🎾💚

We’ll see you Sunday at 6:00 PM!

🎾 MEET COACH KAILEY! 🎾

If you’ve been around ERAA Tennis for a while, there’s a good chance you already know Coach Kailey — because she’s been coaching with us since she was in 7th grade! 💚

Kailey is an East Ridge alum who worked her way from C-Squad in 7th grade to JV and then four years of Varsity tennis, serving as a Varsity Captain during the 2018–2019 season.

She continued her tennis career at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, playing on the women’s tennis team from 2019–2023 and serving as team captain from 2021–2023.

And tennis isn’t the only place Kailey works with kids! She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education and is now a Pre-K teacher in St. Paul. ❤️

Today, Kailey has another pretty special role: she’s also a high school tennis coach at East Ridge, where she now gets to coach alongside some of the same coaches who taught her throughout her own East Ridge tennis career.

From East Ridge player ➡️ ERAA student coach ➡️ college athlete ➡️ educator ➡️ East Ridge coach.

We’re pretty lucky that through all of it, she has continued coming back to ERAA to help teach the next generation of Raptor tennis players.

Give Coach Kailey a hello the next time you see her on the courts! 🎾💚

🎾 REMINDER: NO TENNIS TONIGHT! 🎾

Just a quick reminder to our ERAA Tennis families that there is NO PRACTICE tonight, Sunday, September 6, for Labor Day weekend!

Now… if you forget and find yourself standing in front of an empty tennis court anyway, by all means grab those rackets and turn it into a little family tennis night! 😂🎾

Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your long weekend, and we’ll see everyone back on the courts:

🎾 MEET COACH LUKE! 🎾

We’re excited to welcome a new coach to the ERAA Youth Tennis team this fall — Coach Luke Fridinger!

Luke grew up playing tennis right here in the East Ridge community. He played on the East Ridge Varsity Tennis Team from 2017–2022, helping the team make two State Tournament appearances, including a 2nd-place team finish in 2021. He also competed at State individually in both singles and doubles, including a 2nd-place doubles finish in 2019.

Luke went on to play collegiate tennis at Gustavus Adolphus College from 2022–2026, where he became a 2x All-Conference Singles Player and 2x ITA Scholar Athlete while helping Gustavus win four consecutive MIAC championships. 🎾

But our favorite part of Luke’s tennis résumé might be this:

💚 Luke was part of the very first generation of ERAA Youth Tennis players when he was in kindergarten!

Now he’s coming back to the courts where it all started to help teach the next generation of ERAA players. Talk about a full-circle moment!

Luke recently graduated with a degree in accounting, is pursuing his CPA, and will begin his accounting career in January.

Please help us give Coach Luke a big ERAA welcome! We’re so excited to have him joining us this season. 💚🎾

🎾 There’s Still Time for Our Littlest Raptors to Join Us!

We’re just ONE WEEK away from the start of our Fall ERAA Youth Tennis season! 🎉

Our older groups are filling up, but we still have a few spots available for players in Kindergarten–2nd grade.

If your child has been wanting to try tennis—or your registered player has a friend who would love to join them—now is a great time to sign up!

No previous tennis experience is necessary. Our goal is to introduce young players to the game in a fun, positive environment where they can learn new skills, build confidence and make new friends. 🎾💚

🎾 Want to Get Involved with ERAA Youth Tennis?

We’re looking to add a Secretary to the ERAA Youth Tennis Board!

This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to be a little more involved with our tennis community without taking on a huge time commitment.

Our board typically meets about four times per year—usually once before each spring and fall season and again during/after each session to check in and recap. Meetings are typically held locally at Jerry’s.

Our Secretary would help us:

📝 Put together and organize meeting agendas
📝 Take notes/minutes during board meetings
📝 Maintain our meeting records and make sure they’re properly documented
📝 Help keep our small but mighty board organized throughout the year

That’s really it! 💚

🎾 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR FALL 2026 ERAA YOUTH TENNIS! 🎾

We’re excited to announce that registration is officially open for our Fall 2026 Tennis Skills & Training program at East Ridge High School!

Whether your child is new to tennis or returning for another season, our program is designed to help players build skills, confidence, sportsmanship, and a love for the game in a fun and supportive environment.

📅 September 2 – October 3, 2026

🎾 Practice Schedule:
• Wednesdays & Sundays
• 6:30–7:30 PM (Sept. 2–16)
• 6:00–7:00 PM (Sept. 20–30)

🏆 End-of-Session Skills Showcase & Family Fun Day
