Built in the early 1970’s, Fred Schwartz Field has long been one of the most passionate football environments in the Upper Cumberland. While renovations were originally planned for this summer, the Cannon County School Board voted to place the project on hold, meaning Lion fans will have to wait at least one more season for upgrades.

But make no mistake about it — when Friday night lights come on in Woodbury, the atmosphere still delivers. The loyal Cannon County community packs the stands and rallies behind the Lions with pride, energy, and tradition that far outweighs the need for a facelift.

The Lions are 10-3 at home the past two seasons…Small town football still means something in Cannon County, and Fred Schwartz Field remains one of the toughest places to play on a Friday night in the fall.
