Lammas blessings to you! ☀️ In all of the hustle and bustle of our lives, we often miss this Earth holiday. Lammas marks the mid-way point between the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox.

A few years ago, I made the commitment to myself to take a day off to celebrate these important turnings of the wheel of the year. I feel more grounded and connected when I’m in sync with these earth rhythms.

As we have seen in Vermont and across the country these last few weeks, we are in grave need of aligning ourselves to this beautiful planet earth. 🌏

This summer has been about embracing the art of slow. With all the rain we’ve had, I’m finding an abundance of snails. They serve as a constant reminder to slow down, even in the height of the summer frenzy.

What I’m noticing lately, is that a lot of people are apologizing for their slowness. Whenever I hear an apology, I suggest instead an opportunity to celebrate. What if we just embraced a new pace? Why do we always have to feel the urge to respond instantly?

I’ve been using the space created by slowing down to dive more deeply into my own Human Design. I’m a 2/4, which is called the Hermit/Opportunist. The hermit wants the space, the slowness. The opportunist wants to do all the things. There have certainly been a lot of battles this summer between my 2 distinct energies.

The poppies are celebrating the new moon in Gemini today. 🌙 Their arrival always stops me in my tracks. How could I not stop and take in this riot of glorious orange?

At the beginning of the year, I marked my entire calendar with new moon rest days. My body and my spirit feel much more grounded and calm when I stay close to the natural cycles. It’s not always possible, but when I can I try to rest and relax a bit more on these days.

May you find a moment of rest to honor yourself and the moon today. 🙏🌙💫

Blessed Beltane! It’s a classic cool and damp spring morning here in Vermont. The Daphne is tucked behind the barn, under the apple tree, and she’s one of the earliest bloomers.

My body and spirit have felt really nourished by honoring the Earth holidays. I’ve been building in a natural pause in my schedule for these days throughout the year. It’s so easy to feel disconnected from the natural world, and this simple practice has helped remedy that a bit.

May you enjoy the fresh breath of spring and a bit of joy, knowing that we are halfway to the delight of summer. 🌷💚☀️💚
