Fans of Pease Place Pease Place is a Community Playground in Woodbridge CT Who We Are
The Woodbridge Community Playground Inc.

How It All Began...
The Woodbridge Community Playground Committee was originally formed in 2008 by Colleen Inclima and Teri Schatz of Woodbridge, CT, upon learning of the families with disabilities in Woodbridge who were not able to use the town's "Tot-Lot" playground. The "Tot-Lot" playground is only designed for children ages 2-5 and cannot accommodate any children with mobility or sensory disab

ilities. Colleen and Teri went to the town's Recreation Department to find out how to update that playground to provide accessible structures that were safe for children utilizing special equipment such as crutches or wheelchairs, and that would enable children ages 2-12 with and without disabilities to play alongside one another. Like other parents, they felt that all children should have the opportunity to play and explore together, no matter their abilities. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit formed in 2009 to partner with the town of Woodbridge to raise funds for the construction of a community playground for all ages and ability levels. Pease Place, located at the Woodbridge Athletic Fields on Pease Road, is expected to be built Spring 2014. Pease Place will be the first playground in Woodbridge to accommodate children with physical, sensory or developmental disabilities. The playground will feature play structures for toddlers and older children (each configured to support age appropriate development), inclusive swings, accessible pathways and surfacing, elevated sand tables and activity panels enabling children of all abilities to play together!

A small pink-and-white knitting bag (with a blue/teal pair of socks half knit inside) was left on the bench across from the main sign between 2 and 3pm yesterday . If anyone found it please help us reunite the unfinished work with the knitter. Thanks 😊

The First free concert of the season is postponed until tomorrow due to weather. There will be music, food, friends and even a clinic for those interested (not a promotion of clinic, just sharing information).

POSTPONED due to weather! Shaded Soul Band will kick off the Town's summer concert series on Wednesday (NOT tonight!) at 6 pm.

Concerts are every Tuesday in July at 6 pm on the Town Green, and our partner Quinnipiack Valley Health District will be on site offering vaccines each week. Also on hand: with hot and cold coffees and teas and ice cream vendor Sweetheart Ice Cream. Hope to see you there!
