This is CrossFit 271:

We're a coaching-first fitness community focused on helping people build real, lasting results.

Not random workouts. Not hours wandering around an open gym. Not fitness fads.

Just expert coaching, structured programming, and a supportive community designed to help you get stronger, healthier, and more confident.

Every class at CrossFit 271 is led by experienced coaches who genuinely care about how you move, how you train, and how you progress over time. We don't just set the clock, turn up the music and cheer —we coach. We teach proper technique, modify workouts to meet you where you are, and help you steadily improve regardless of your starting point.

What we do is simple:

We use strength training, conditioning, mobility, and functional movement to improve:

Strength and muscle development
Cardiovascular fitness and endurance
Body composition and weight management
Mobility and movement quality
Long-term health and performance

Our programming is intentionally designed to create measurable progress. While every workout is different enough to keep training engaging, there's a clear plan behind what we do. We track performance, celebrate milestones, and help members understand not only what they're doing, but why they're doing it.

At CrossFit 271, you'll find beginners working alongside experienced athletes, parents training next to military veterans, and professionals making time for their health. What brings everyone together is a commitment to becoming better than they were yesterday.

Most importantly, we've built a community where people support one another, leave their egos at the door, and genuinely enjoy showing up.

If you're looking for professional coaching, accountability, structured fitness programming, and a community that takes your progress seriously, CrossFit 271 might be exactly what you're looking for.

Book a call and let's talk about your goals, your challenges, and the best path forward for you.

We're always happy to get a 5-star review!!

Creating a welcoming environment where people of all fitness levels feel comfortable and supported is one of our top priorities. Whether someone is brand new to CrossFit, returning to exercise after time away, or an experienced athlete looking to improve performance, we want every member to feel confident and successful from day one.

We're also glad when people remark on our cleanliness - I clean this gym more than I clean my house! lol!

Protect Your Bones With Strength Training!

In addition to muscle mass retention, maintaining bone mass is a must when using a GLP-1. Strength training makes it happen!

Can GLP-1 medications cause bone loss? Learn how rapid weight loss, muscle loss, and poor nutrition affect bone density—and how strength training can help protect your health.

We love celebrating "FIRSTS". Congrats to César, one of our year-plus members, for his first toes-to-bar!!

Most "firsts" come after months and months of trusting the process (showing up consistently, progressing smartly, recovering properly). It's not a fluke that César can get his toes to the bar. It's the result of building shoulder girdle, core and grip strength first, then developing timing in in the kip swing. It's refining the coordination and accury needed to bring both feet to the bar at the same time.

But after we get our "first", we're not done. Now comes the hard part - not settling for just "good enough" movement. The process isn't over. We need to continue to get stronger, get tighter, and build more stamina in these same positions. And we do this by, yes, showing up consistently, progressing smartly, recovering properly!

Looking forward to continuing the process with César!!

GLP-1’s have revolutionized weight loss by reducing hunger, cravings and food noise and improving blood sugar control, to name a few. This can lead to significant weight loss, some of which is fat loss, but also loss of muscle and potentially bone.
Strength training and protein consumption must be paired with this powerful tool to ensure long term success.

MEET OUR COACHES!!

Introducing Coach Ginger! Runner, marine biologist, and mom of two with another one on the way in a matter of weeks (and still working out!):

Ginger was born in Nebraska on a small family farm, but always dream of studying the ocean. As an avid runner, she attended college on scholarship in Missouri, but spent a summer taking classes on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and fell in love with the area and the kindness of the people. She graduated in 2012 with a double major in Marine Biology and Biological Psychology, and decided to pursue graduate school at the University of Georgia. After one year in the graduate program, her heart called her back to Mississippi so she transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi to study oyster reef restoration and graduated with her Ph.D. in Coastal Sciences in 2017.

In 2014, while in graduate school, her best friend introduced her to CrossFit as something new to try. After being plagued with multiple fractures from running so many miles a week as a collegiate athlete she was anxious to try something new but scared about stepping out of her comfort zone. It was a very humbling experience and she almost quit because she was so used to being a natural at running, but she is so glad she stuck it out. CrossFit completely transformed the way she viewed herself and her capabilities. Instead of just being the injury-prone runner, she was able to challenge herself to be the girl who was “sneaky strong.” Going from being unable to bench press the training bar to an athlete that competed in CrossFit competitions built up her confidence.

Now as a coach she is able to identify with the challenges of starting CrossFit for the first time, and she loves watching athletes make progress and seeing their confidence in their abilities grow over time.

Ginger is married to a retired Air Force cyber officer, Erik, and they have two amazing children, Charlie who is 6 and Gwen who is 3 years old. She works as an online professor for the University of Hawaii-West Oahu teaching marine biology, environmental biology, and human anatomy and physiology courses.

In her spare time she is also the chief scientist for the Callie Mae Sea Foundation, a non-profit she and her husband started while living in Hawaii. The foundation now has branches in Hawaii, Mississippi, and Virginia, and focuses on living shorelines and rebuilding oyster reefs.

We believe in you! No matter your age, we know you can do hard things!!!

(I mean, I’m sure we’ll all be sore in entirely new places after our forward rolls, but that’s okay!!)

You may look at these athletes and think to yourself: “I could never do that!” And my answer would be “maybe not today, but stick with us and anything is possible!”

CrossFit is more than a fitness program. It’s a CONFIDENCE program. It’s a LET ME FIND OUT WHAT I AM REALLY CAPABLE OF IF I PUT IN THE WORK program. And that’s true whether you’re 25 or 55.

Let us help you rediscover what’s possible. DM to start the conversation!
