A limited number of full training stalls are available to riders and their horses. Felicitas also travels throughout the United States teaching clinics. Since arriving from Germany in 1984, Felicitas has managed First Choice Farm and trained many horses to Grand Prix level including the famous stallion Tonico do Top. Tempo is the foundation of the USDF Training Scale. Without a steady base, you can't build suppleness, contact, or collection.

Want to test your timing? Count out loud. Mental counting lies, but vocalizing keeps your rhythm honest.

Here’s how to use it:
Walk and trot: Count the front legs every 8 strides at the walk and try movements like a circle or leg yields.

Canter: Recite the days of the week (Mon-day, Tues-day). If Friday arrives too fast, you’re rushing.

Count out loud, listen, and feel.
