So how do you separate yourself?

You refine. You review. You stay curious. You search out ways to be better — on and off the course.

On the course / in training:
• You don’t just hit balls — you train with a plan and track your results.
• You rehearse your pre-shot routine under pressure, not comfort.
• You build variability into practice so performance holds up when it matters.
•You review rounds like film study — breaking down decisions, misses, and ex*****on.
• You refine your course strategy until it matches your strengths, not trends.
•You chase consistency in setup, tempo, and mindset, not just mechanics.

Off the course / lifestyle:
• You build your schedule around recovery, not convenience.
• You train your body for durability and power - improving areas your deficient
• You treat nutrition, sleep, and mobility as performance tools.
• You protect your mental bandwidth — less noise, more focus.
• You journal or reflect weekly to track patterns and progress.
• You learn from other elite performers — in sport, business, and leadership.
• You stay curious. You study pressure, decision-making, and focus like it’s part of your game.

Because high performance isn’t random.
It’s built in the details no one else sees.

5 Skills College Coaches Look For

It’s more than just talent — coaches value players who bring the full package:
1️⃣ A functional, consistent swing
2️⃣ Strong grades & discipline
3️⃣ High golf IQ & smart decisions
4️⃣ Poise and maturity under pressure
5️⃣ Knowing the rules — and using them to your advantage

Bring these together, and you’ll stand out on any coach’s radar. ⛳️

Most elite golfers don’t lose strokes because of their swing.
They lose them because of how they practice.

Here are 5 practice mistakes I see even elite players make (and how to fix them):
1️⃣ No clear plan — training only what feels good, not what’s needed.
2️⃣ Too much range time — false confidence, no pressure, flat lies.
3️⃣ Ignoring scoring shots — the easy and medium ones lower scores the most.
4️⃣ Practicing for comfort, not growth — chasing confidence instead of competence.
5️⃣ Not challenging practice enough — training should feel harder than competition.

✅ Save this post before your next practice session.

Fuel your game like the pros.

From pre-round meals to recovery strategies, the right nutrition keeps you sharp, focused, and ready to perform at your peak.

Here are 5 essential nutrition tips competitive golfers use to stay energized from the first tee to the 18th green:
🔹Balanced meals with lean protein & quality carbs
🔹Time your carbs for lasting energy
🔹 Stay hydrated with water & electrolytes
🔹 Smart snacks every 4–6 holes
🔹 Refuel fast post-round for recovery

Your swing deserves the same attention as your nutrition. Fuel smarter. Play stronger.

👉 Which of these do you already use on the course?

Case Study from a D1 College Player

Importance of not coaching a player to ranges and looking at the motion as a whole. Plus, how equipment can influence a players swing.

Issues: two way miss with pull draws and pushes with inconsistent contact, toe bias, height of contact too

1) Initial swing: main issue being the players pelvis & chest side bend in the backswing. The lack of left side bend at top allowed for the hands/arms to get too much depth leading the shaft to be too shallow in transition

2) Current swing: Notice how the hand thrust is now -8.3 inches which led to the shaft now being a touch steeper in the downswing, -35 degrees at club vertical, from adding more left side bend.

3) Comparison: Notice how the pelvis side bend changed by 2 degrees leading to the chest being able to have 4 more degrees of left side bend.

4) Initial swing: In the backswing the pelvis would recenter closer to top of backswing. This lead to the pelvis lifting up as they approach the top of backswing going from -0.7” pelvis lift to 0” at the top.

5) Current swing: Pelvis will recenter earlier and the added left side bend allows for the pelvis to lower as it reaches the top of the backswing, and then continue to lower in the downswing just above lead arm parallel.

6) Comparison: showing where the pelvis reaches the lowest point in the swing. Before was in the backswing. Now it’s in the downswing as it should be.

7) Initial swing: The shaft being too shallow in transition from depth and side bend issues would result in the hands dragging & staying low as shown by hand thrust being 1” at impact. (Tour range 1.6” - 4.8”)

8) Current swing: Improved side bend and depth led to the shaft being steeper in downswing & player being able to release club properly leading to the improved hand thrust at impact, 3.9”.

As the player started to move and release the club better we noticed the shafts would have too much droop leading to toe balls. Highlighting why the player developed their issues in the first place. With a shaft that was stiffer in the tip, adding side bend and releasing the club improved quickly.

Made some great strides with a professional player this morning. Helping players understand how and why they move the way they do and give clear understanding of the changes that they should make is always a recipe for success. I find players are then able to feel more athletic and execute the needed changes. I love and use what says, we want players to be on offense not defense.
