Hey parents of Tennis Players or potential tennis players. If your daughter is thinking about playing tennis for Wolf Point here are some answers to questions.
1. Who can play? Any Wolf Point (District) 8th grader, (Frontier included as long as they live in Wolf Point District) to Senior girl.
2. Do you need experience? No, our coaches will train you and you usually only play others close to your ability. Within 1 or 2 weeks, everyone can play tennis.
3. What do I need? Good court shoes and ready to have fun. A physical. We have rackets, but if you want to buy your own here is a list of good rackets. We can also restring if you get a used racket or a racket with no string. If you buy a racket from a store that strings, the poundage should NOT exceed 58 pounds for new players.
- HEAD or Wilson racket from a big box store (20 to 40 dollars)
will last about a season.
- HEAD TI S6, ($99 new) Great racket
- Babolat 2021 Boost Drive Strung Tennis Racquet($99) Nice
Racket
- Any racket between 8 and 9.5 ounces is a good racket for
playing. If the player is strong, they get go up to about 10.5
ounces. Make sure the grip Fits nicely in your hand. Usually 4
1/4 to 4 3/8 is standard for High School girls.
If you have any questions please contact Coach Horsmon

Wolf Point Lady Wolves tennis takes a very close 2nd at Divisional. Senior Demi Kegley took a solid 2nd place at singles, and Angelica Sutton came through with a singles 4th place finish. Both ladies qualified for state. Mikaya Smoker-Dewitt and Jodi Houg took the doubles Championship and will be going to state. Julie Garfield and Mahala MacDonald played very hard and both earned a couple wins at singles Kaleah Miller-Toves and Kalee Johnson teamed up for a doubles win. Everyone played so well, very proud of our Wolves!!!

Hey all, just wondering if there is enough interest to have a yearly Wolf Point tennis league? Maybe play once week or so, and have an end of year tournament in September. Lessons could be provided by Coach Horsmon from the high school if anyone wants to start. Ages could range from high school to 105. What do ya think??
