On Saturday, June 6th, 2026, we had the pleasure of testing four of our younger karate students. From left to right, Mr. Preece Jr (Blue Belt), Mr. Kaplan Jr., Mr. Azizov, and Ms. Kuzmuk (yellow belts). All students were well prepared and did a good job. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Mr. Rouech and Ms. Eichelberg, who tested for Yon Kyu (6th level). Both did well, and as you can see from the picture, they were pretty well drained (but happy) by the end of the testing.

Congratulations to Ms. Gundoji, who recently tested for Iy-Kyu (3rd stripe brown) and she did a great job. She was on fire sparring. Next promotion will be to black belt.

Our Summer Martial Arts Camp is designed for kids ages 6–14 and goes beyond the mat. We focus on the whole child — fitness, nutrition, life skills, and FUN!

Congratulations to Mr. Jack Opalko, who was tested for his Sho Dan Ho (1st degree junior black belt) on January 24, 2026. As expected, he did a great job sparring (he's a scrapper), running kata, and self defense. He was one of our little dragon students at 5 and he is now 12. Go Mr. Opalko!

OIKKA is sponsoring a Zoom Kangeiko (winter training) session this coming Saturday (January 3, 2026) at 9:30AM commemorating Grand Master Uezu-sensei's birth year. We will be participating via Zoom at the DoJo. All current and former DoJo students are welcome to attend. The agenda will be 10 repetitions of basics, kumite drills, and kata. We hope you can join us.
