"Dad, can you wash my jersey? I want to wear it to school tomorrow."

I am not one to crank up the washing machine after getting home at 11 from a baseball game, but that is one request I will honor tonight.

I know I speak for all the coaches when I tell you what a privilege it has been to coach these boys. We are all thankful that you trusted your boys with us and put the time and effort into getting them to practices and games the last two months. Their hard work and your commitment have been much appreciated.

It's been a long time since we stepped on the field together and we started teaching the boys how to lead off. We coaches believe they did great with their first taste of "big boy" baseball. We are very proud of all they did and the progress they made.

We're ready to go at it again!

Game day, and we are ready!!!! Let's take it to Game Time Sports! Bring your RED caps and put some pep in your step. If you believe . . . if you KNOW you will do well tonight . . . . well, that's all we need. That and some timely hitting, great pitching, and super defense. THAT is all we need. And we know you can bring it!!

Be at Field #4 by 7 P.M. this evening. Be ready to hit the ball!

Found out today that we will be the visiting team. Wear your RED caps. Be down at the field by 7 P.M. Get your homework before the game, grab some food early, and come down ready to hit the cover off the ball.

Great practice tonight!!! Let's bring that intensity to the field on Thursday - Field #4 at 7:30 P.M. We will be taking on Game Time Sports. It's crunch time . . . win or go home! I don't know about everyone else, but I am not ready to go home . . . too many chores to do.

Not sure yet if we are home or visitor. We will get that info out ASAP.

Regular practice tonight! Be ready to play outside! Cleats/pants/cups!!! Bring sneakers if we go to the cage and consider long sleeves if it gets breezy! See you at 6 PM!

Small change. Should the game be canceled tonight, we will not hit tonight. Rain is in the forecast tomorrow, so we will hit in the cage tomorrow night. More info on the game tonight as soon as it comes in.

Game day . . . . . maybe!! Mother Nature doesn't appear to be cooperating today, as the rain is coming down both here and in Kingsport. We are scheduled to play the Angels at 6 P.M. on field #6. We will let you know as soon as we know about whether or not the game is on. If the game is called off, we will be at the cage to hit at 6 P.M.

Tonight, we saw glimpses of what this ball team can be. We played some of our best defense of the year and had one of our best innings at the plate. We are very proud of you boys - you went at it with one of the best teams in the league and proved you could play right there with them.

Here are a couple things we learned tonight:

1 - Trick plays stink, especially when they are played on us.

2 - We can hit the ball hard, but we can't wait until the fifth inning to do it.

3 - Umpires NEVER get credited with winning a game for a team. We will not leave the field blaming an umpire for costing us a game. Look inward, not outward, and you will see why we ended up on the short end of the scoreboard tonight.

Have a fantastic weekend. Rest your arms, do something besides baseball, and come back ready to finish the season strong on Monday!

Game day!!! Game two of our three game push! Time to finish strong! We take on the Volunteer Falcons on field #6 at 6 P.M. Bring your bats, your gloves, your BLUE caps, and the intensity to win!!

Go Rockhounds! Way to come from behind and snag a win! Very, very proud of the way you boys battled. You didn't fold up and go home. You stuck it out, put a few hits together, moved some runners around, and then held on with some smart baseball.

Tonight's game HAD to go our way. As Tim said, anytime you have a foul tip caught by the catcher and then thrown to the center fielder who tosses it to the shortstop for a double play, you are destined to win!

Enjoy your day off tomorrow. Make sure you are keeping up with school work. Come back ready to play hard on Thursday. Let's get it rolling for the tourney!
