#2 is ready to put on a show next Sunday 💥

Lewiston native and Lewiston High School alum Elias Atkins finished 2nd in the Pine Tree League in home runs while putting together an outstanding 2nd year in the PTL and will represent the Cardinals in the Home Run Derby at 9:00 AM, September 13th at Bates College.

After the Derby, he’ll take over center field as an All-Star starter.

WELCOME TO THE BIRDS | ADAM EUTSLER #14

The Cardinals add another proven bat to the infield with the addition of Adam Eutsler to the 2027 roster.

Eutsler was named the 2025 Pine Tree League Coastal Conference Silver Slugger after putting together a huge season at the plate last season:
404 AVG | 1.064 OPS | 22 RBI

His 2025 season also earned him a spot in the Pine Tree League All-Star Game.

A Medomak Valley High School product, Adam went on to play college baseball at Husson University before spending the last three seasons competing in the Pine Tree League. The club is extremely pleased to add Adam to the 2027 roster!

The Lincoln County Cardinals would like to thank Caleb Harvey and Cam Crocker for everything they have contributed to the program over the past two seasons as they step away from the team following the 2026 season.

Caleb served as our starting left fielder and two-hole hitter, providing consistent production on both sides of the ball throughout his time with the Cardinals while Cam Crocker brought valuable versatility to the roster, spending time at both second and third base while also giving us important innings on the mound in his two seasons with the Birds. Cam remains the lone player to hold a playoff win on the mound in team history with his playoff victory in 2025.

Both players were early additions to the Cardinals and have been great teammates and an important part of building this program. We will miss them greatly.

We appreciate everything Caleb and Cam gave to the Cardinals and wish them both the best moving forward!

THREE CARDINALS NAMED 2026 PINE TREE LEAGUE ALL-STARS

We’re excited to announce that Gibby Morrison, Tyler Bailey and Elias Atkins have been nominated as 2026 Pine Tree League All-Stars.

Gibby Morrison | 1B/C
Gibby hit .348 with a .423 OBP this season, collecting 16 hits, four doubles and eight RBI. He was a consistent bat in our lineup all summer and did a great job for the team both behind the plate and at first base.

Tyler Bailey | P/3B
The 2025 Cardinals team voted MVP Tyler had another big year on both sides of the ball. He hit .488 with a .600 OBP, finishing with 21 hits in 43 at-bats. On the mound, he went 5-2 with a save and a 2.12 ERA, striking out 48 over 59⅓ innings and throwing six complete games. This is Tyler’s second straight all star nomination.

Elias Atkins | CF
Elias hit .348 with a .423 OBP, drove in 16 runs, scored 19 times, hit three home runs and stole 15 bases earning All Star honors. The 2025 Gold Glove recipient also gave the team valuable innings on the mound and provided his usual elite defense in center field.

The next step comes on September 4, when the league will draft the All-Star teams. The players selected in that draft will make up the First Team All-Stars and will play in the Pine Tree League All-Star Game on September 13 at 10:00 AM at Bates College in Lewiston. Additional updates to come at the conclusion of the All Star draft.

To Our Cardinals Baseball Family

Our 2026 season didn’t end the way we hoped it would but when I look back on this summer, there is still a lot to be thankful for.

More than anything, it’s a pleasure to be able to do this with the group of players, families, fans, sponsors and supporters that we have around this team. Baseball is obviously a huge part of it, but the people are what make all of this worth doing. I’m thankful that we get to spend our summers together, compete together, build this program together and continue making memories along the way.

To our players, thank you for continuing to buy into what we want the Lincoln County Cardinals to be. Playing in the Pine Tree League is a large time commitment not only for our players but for our wives and children who sacrifice for our guys to be able to play this kids game that we love. I truly appreciate the time and effort every guy gave to this team. We have a close group of players who genuinely enjoy being around each other and that is something I will never take for granted.

We finished our second Pine Tree League season with nine wins. We certainly had some growing pains and there are games we wish we could have back but I’m proud of the progress we made as a team this season. We expect the majority of this group to return in 2027, along with some key additions that we believe can help take us another step forward. Our goal remains to be a top 4 team and give ourselves an opportunity to win a championship for our Lincoln County fans. We know that doesn’t happen overnight but we remain confident and excited about the group we have and what we can continue building together.

Some of the best parts of this summer had nothing to do with the actual baseball on Sundays. We hosted our second annual Cardinals Kids Camp with more than 50 kids attending. Being able to get our players involved with young baseball players in the area and see that many kids working on their games and having fun playing ball is something we’re really proud of.

We were also able to raise money for a Maine family battling cancer. Thank you to everyone who donated, helped put the event together or supported it in any way. We’re grateful that baseball gives us an opportunity to help people in our community. We aren’t finished giving back in 2026 either, as we’re looking forward to our Christmas drive this December.

Heading into 2027, we also hope to continue growing our sponsorship network. The support of local businesses makes everything we do possible, and the more that network grows, the more we hope to be able to give back. We would love to continue growing our kids camp and find even more ways to support the youth baseball and softball programs in Wiscasset. When I started the Cardinals, I hoped we could build something that people enjoyed being a part of and something that could become a positive piece of the Wiscasset and Lincoln County community. Two seasons later, I’m just really thankful for where we are and for everyone who has chosen to be a part of it. There is plenty we still want to accomplish on the baseball field and we’ll keep working toward those goals but getting to do this every summer with this group of people is something I’m incredibly grateful for.

Lincoln County Cardinals Fight Back In Season Ending Loss To The Hippach Hounds

Despite a 6-run deficit in the second inning, the Lincoln County Cardinals almost came all the way back, eventually falling 8-7 to Hippach Hounds on Saturday at Wiscasset Middle High School.

The Hippach Hounds got on the board in the top of the first inning after Isaac Wrigley doubled, scoring one run, and Cam Goodhart singled, scoring two runs.

The Hounds scored three runs in the top of the second on a home run to center field by Wrigley.

The Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a single by Jackson Murray and a passed ball.

A single by Hunter Crocker gave Lincoln County the lead, 7-6, in the bottom of the eighth.

Wrigley singled down the right field line, which helped Hippach Hounds tie the game at seven in the top of the ninth.

Sean Testa earned the win for Hippach Hounds. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over eight innings, striking out seven and walking four. Elias Atkins pitched seven innings in relief for Lincoln County Cardinals. The reliever gave up three hits and two runs while striking out four and walking two. Matt Smith stepped on the bump first for Lincoln County Cardinals. The pitcher surrendered four hits and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking three.

Lincoln County Cardinals piled up 11 hits in the game. Atkins, Crocker, Tyler Bailey, and Jake Tidd each collected two hits for the Lincoln County Cardinals. Murray went 1-for-5 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Lincoln County Cardinals had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Bailey and Gabe Morrison led the team with two free passes each. The Lincoln County Cardinals turned one double play in the game. The Birds were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Morrison had the most chances in the field with 10.

Hippach Hounds collected 12 hits in the game. Wrigley provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led Hippach Hounds with five runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Goodhart, Kyle Fox, and Jayden Meader each collected multiple hits for Hippach Hounds. Hippach Hounds had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Mason Hopkins and Meader led the team with two walks each. Meader stole three bases. The Hippach Hounds ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game. Hippach Hounds turned one double play in the game.

PLAYOFF BASEBALL RETURNS TO WISCASSET ON SATURDAY

For the second straight summer, the Hippach Hounds and Lincoln County Cardinals will meet in the Pine Tree League Playoffs with the season on the line.

Lincoln County finished the regular season 9-7, earning the #7 seed, while Hippach comes to Wiscasset at 8-8 as the #10 seed.

These two teams met in the opening round a year ago. Lincoln County won 12-0, with Cam Crocker throwing five no-hit innings to help send the Birds into the next round.

That was last year, though. This Hippach team can hit. The Hounds finished the regular season hitting .352 as a team with a .478 OBP, scoring 121 runs and stealing 74 bases. Mason Hopkins has been at the center of it, hitting .595 with 22 hits, seven doubles, three triples and 12 RBI. Isaac Wringley is hitting .538 with a .647 OBP and 11 RBI, while Hayden Dural enters Saturday at .458 with a .675 OBP and 10 RBI. Sean Testa gives them another threat at .393 with nine stolen bases and has also handled a big workload on the mound, going 3-2 with 26 strikeouts.

Lincoln County has taken a different route to nine wins. Tyler Bailey has put together another big season on both sides of the ball, hitting .488 with a .600 OBP while going 5-2 with a 2.12 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 59.1 innings. Elias Atkins has provided some of the Birds’ biggest swings, hitting .348 with three home runs, 16 RBI, 19 runs scored and 15 stolen bases. Gabe Morrison is also hitting .348 with four doubles and eight RBI, while Jackson Murray, surging in the second half of the PTL season, hit .321, reached base at a .486 clip, scored 12 runs and stolen eight bases in his second year as a Cardinal.

Cardinals Lose On Walk-Off in Game 1, Come Up Short In Game 2, Drop Two in Bath to Sturgeons to End Regular Season

A walk-off hit left the Lincoln County Cardinals on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Kennebec Sturgeons on Sunday at Varnum Field. The Kennebec Sturgeons were down 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Aaron Barrett singled, scoring two runs.

The Lincoln County Cardinals lost despite out-hitting Kennebec Sturgeons 10 to five. Jackson Murray led the Cardinals with three hits.

A single by Elias Atkins put Lincoln County on the board in the top of the first.

The Cardinals extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Atkins and Tyler Bailey.

The Kennebec Sturgeons made the score 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh after Brenton Cahill scored after tagging up, and Barrett singled, scoring two runs.

Tyler Rose earned the win for Kennebec Sturgeons. The pitcher surrendered 10 hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking none. Bailey took the loss for Lincoln County Cardinals. The right-handed pitcher went six and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out eight and walking one.

The Lincoln County Cardinals tallied 10 hits in the game. Atkins provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Lincoln County Cardinals with two runs batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Caleb Harvey collected two hits for Lincoln County Cardinals in four at bats. Atkins stole two bases. Lincoln County Cardinals ran aggressively on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.

Cahill, Jon Marquis, Barrett, David Lagueux, and Zack Lavoie each collected one hit for Kennebec Sturgeons. Barrett and Lagueux each drove in two runs for Kennebec Sturgeons.

In Game 2, the Kennebec Sturgeons were the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run.

Lincoln County Cardinals took the lead in the bottom of the third. Elias Atkins doubled, scoring two runs, to give Lincoln County Cardinals the upper hand, 2-1.

Brenton Cahill singled to the right side of the infield, which helped the Kennebec Sturgeons tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.

Kennebec Sturgeons took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Aaron Barrett doubled to center field, and Chris Brady doubled to center field, each scoring one run.

Logan Sheridan earned the win for the Sturgeons. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking six. Jim Davis took the loss for the Lincoln County Cardinals. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking five.

Atkins went 1-for-2 in game 2. Atkins, Joshua Doughty, Davis, Tyler Bailey, Gabe Morrison, and Jackson Murray each collected one hit for the Lincoln County Cardinals. Doughty paced Lincoln County Cardinals with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Bailey stole two bases. The Lincoln County Cardinals had four stolen bases in the game.

Cahill went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Kennebec Sturgeons in hits. Brady, Cahill, and Barrett each drove in one run for Kennebec Sturgeons. Zack Lavoie led the Kennebec Sturgeons with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Kennebec Sturgeons ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game. Kennebec Sturgeons turned one double play in the game.
