Do you know what happened in 1977? Well, yes, of course--Methow Trails was first formed, and we're kicking off our 50th anniversary celebration this winter. You knew that. A big deal, and we're proud of it. But did you know that 1977 was also the publication date of the the world-wide seminal text, "Everybody Poops" by Tarō Gomi? In honor of this auspicious anniversary, please enjoy a brand new double vault toilet at the new Cub Creek Trailhead! Should be open for ahem, business, within the next couple of weeks. After all, everybody poops.

Methow Trails board and staff members got out on the trails today for a work party in Mazama. River Run and Jacks trail were bushed, thinned, and had repairs made to trail tread. We also worked on staining the benches, siding, and door for the upgraded Cow Beach warming hut. Fun day out with the crew!

If you want to get in on the fun, join us Thursday for our monthly Third Thursday work party. You can see details and sign up on our events page: methowtrails.org/events

We are so grateful for the swift, skilled, and incredible response from fire crews who were able to put an end to the Hamilton fire this weekend. Despite the wild wind, the firefighting efforts were successful and undoubtedly saved homes and lives in Winthrop. We are so grateful for their work and for everyone who reached out to check in on our staff. Our local fire crews are simply incredible and we are so thankful for them and for the crews from across the state who swooped in to help. Thank you!
For updates, follow Okanogan County Emergency Management. Thank you Okanogan County Fire Dist 6 and all other fire crews who responded!

This time of year, the trail work to-do list only ever gets longer, and many hands made short work of a brushy section of trail. Thank you all for your time and energy!
