JUNE EVENTS AT COUNTRY CLUB -
We need Volunteers for our Work Day – Saturday, June 6 starting at 8:00 AM WEATHER PERMITTING. This work day is to get the course ready for our major fundraiser the Industrial Golf Tournament – June 12 & 13th. Please bring your w**d eaters, mowers and tools. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. ⛳️

June 12th & 13th – Annual Industrial Tournament – This is our big Fundraiser and all team slots have been filled.
FRIDAY, JUNE 13TH - There will be beverages and a meal served from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM by the Winters Country Club. All team sponsors, players, volunteers and potential Calcutta bidders are welcome!
CALCUTTA – Friday, June 13th - Plan is to start the Calcutta immediately following the meal. This is the opportunity for anyone (not just players) to purchase a team. Team entry fees paid by the sponsors are donated to the WSARA.
CLOSEST TO THE PIN CONTEST - Friday evening during Industrial festivities

Here are the results of our Red, White and Blue tournament. It was beautiful day for golf. As always, a good time was had by all! ⛳️

Tied for 2nd place - Anthony Ochoa & Jim Ventress and Johnny Curbo & Chris Gehrels

2nd place was Terry Chambliss & Jerry Sims

RED, WHITE & BLUE Tournament this Saturday, May 23. DEPENDING ON WEATHER. Two person teams, 27 Holes – Bring your own team.

9:00 AM Tee Off. $30 per person. Lunch will be provided. The number of flights and payouts to be determined by the number of teams

9 holes from the RED tee – Best Ball (some call it Low Ball) format: each player plays his/her own ball each hole and the best score for one player on the team is recorded as the team score on each hole. Record double bogey as the maximum score per hole.

9 holes from the White tee – Alternate Shot format: Both players tee off on the first hole. Team chooses the tee shot to use then the player who did not hit the tee shot hits next. The players continue to hit the one ball in alternate shots until the ball is holed. Record the score. Record double bogey as the maximum score per hole. Both players tee off on the next hole and then alternate shot as described above.

9 holes from the Blue tee – Scramble format: Both players tee off and then both players play every shot from the best of the two previous shot locations until ball is holed. Record the score. Record actual score as there is no PAR for each hole from which to determine double bogey. KICKER: the blue tees will not be traditional locations.

Come out and play tomorrow in the Winters FFA Fundraiser Golf Tournament. The Winters FFA chapter was issued the first local chapter charter in Texas, receiving it in 1930. Based at Winters High School, the chapter focuses on agricultural education, leadership, and community service. Come out and support them! ⛳️
